There is still time to catch our November Artist of the Month, Jeffrey Cook (November 1–30, 2025) in the Schultz Community Center, Lower Level.

Jeffrey’s paintings grow out of a lifelong love of traditional illustration and a deep admiration for artists like Howard Pyle, NC Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, and Andrew Wyeth. After a successful career as a designer, art director, and corporate creative director, he’s returned to his first love painting, working in classic mediums like oil and egg tempera.

Now retired, Jeffrey paints simply for the joy of it, capturing everyday moments and subjects that hold personal meaning. As he shares, “I paint to capture my love of the subject… I paint the things that make me want to paint them. As Andrew Wyeth used to say, ‘I paint my life.’”

On behalf of the entire Meadowood team, we wish you and your family a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving! 🤎🧡🦃

As we prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, we find ourselves reflecting on our Veterans Day event, beautifully captured by Kevin York Photographer. The program included the posting of the colors, a special address by Kenneth J. Braithwaite, 77th Secretary of the Navy (Ret.), a tribute to our departed colleagues, folding of the flag, and recognition of audience members and staff of each veteran service branch.

"My time in uniform is over, but being a veteran never ends."

This past weekend, Team Meadowood joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Philadelphia. We’re so proud to share that our team, led by our Director of Life Enrichment, Tracy Paredes, raised over $11,000 to support the Alzheimer's Association!

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff, residents, and family members who purchased a t-shirt, donated, and walked alongside us. Your support helps bring us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

Good news, it’s not too late to make a difference, team donations are still being accepted! Donate Here: https://act.alz.org/site/TR?team_id=940072&pg=team&fr_id=18853

📣 Team Meadowood, Captain Spotlight ✨
"I have both personal and professional reasons to walk. My Grandmother had Alzheimer's Disease; she passed away quite some time ago and I have worked in healthcare communities for the past 13+ years. Looking back, I wish I had some of the professional knowledge I have now when I was interacting with my Grandmother as a teenager. That is why I am committed to Dementia Education, Research and Caregiver Support; all things the Walk to End Alzheimer's supports!" - Tracy
