Have you seen the story of Punch, the orphan monkey?

Abandoned.
Dismissed.
Alone.

Left to navigate a world he wasn’t equipped to survive in.

And in many ways, that’s how some of my clients walk into my office.

They’ve been told their labs are “fine.”
Their symptoms are “normal.”
Their exhaustion is “just aging.”
Their diagnosis is something they’ll “just have to live with.”

So they leave appointments feeling unseen.
Unheard.
Alone.

But Punch’s story didn’t end there.

Someone stepped in.
Someone provided safety, consistency, guidance.
And with support, he began to live fully again.

That’s the part people forget.

Healing often isn’t about trying harder.
It’s about having the right environment and the right support.

When the body feels safe, it responds differently.

No one thrives in isolation.
And no one should have to navigate their health alone.

Sometimes what changes everything…
is finally having someone walk alongside you.

I get asked a lot about “detoxification.”

And almost every time someone says,
“Your liver detoxes itself. You don’t need support.”

That’s partially true.

Your body was designed to detox.

But it was not designed for:
• Microplastics
• Pesticides
• Synthetic fragrances
• Ultra-processed additives
• Alcohol
• Birth control
• Chronic stress
• Hormone disruption

Detox isn’t magic. It’s physiology.

Liver processes → bile packages → bowels eliminate.

If any one of those steps is sluggish, toxins don’t leave.
They recirculate.

Let me be very clear:

If you are not having daily bowel movements,
your body is reabsorbing what it’s trying to eliminate.

Your body does not want waste fermenting inside you.

Daily elimination is not a small thing.
It’s foundational.

This is why detox support isn’t trendy in our office.
It’s structural.

Daily BMs matter more than you think.
And they are often the first step in rebuilding the framework that allows symptoms to resolve.

Detection is not prevention.
They are not the same.

In the U.S., we are very good at detecting disease.
Screenings. Scans. Lab markers. Diagnoses.

Those things matter. Of course they do.

But detection happens after the body has already adapted, compensated, and broken down.

Prevention asks a different question:
What is driving the imbalance before disease develops?

Until prevention becomes the priority, we will continue to:
• Take the most prescription medications
• Spend the most on healthcare
• And still rank among the sickest populations

You can’t medicate your way out of a system that never addresses root causes.

Health isn’t found in early detection alone.
It’s built daily — through habits, environment, and support that keep the body resilient long before a diagnosis is made.

What happens when your doctor's words clash with your progress?

She sat in her GI appointment and said,
“I feel better than I have since being diagnosed.”

The response?

“How you feel doesn’t really matter. You still have a disease and NEED these drugs.”

Here’s the part that gets missed.

She wasn’t just feeling better.
Her lab work was improving too.

Yet improvement was dismissed because it was more natural and holistic. It didn’t fit their standard model.

This is the gap so many people fall into. When labels matter more than lived experience, and progress is ignored if it comes from outside their protocol.

Feeling better matters.
Objective improvement matters.

This is why we do what we do.

Let’s talk about Hashimoto’s. More specifically why the thyroid usually isn’t the real problem.

Most people are diagnosed after one lab value is checked: TSH.
They’re given a prescription and told to manage it from there.

But in practice, I see something very different.

Hashimoto’s is rarely just a thyroid issue.
It’s often a gut issue.
A liver issue.
A hormone imbalance.
A chronic stress and immune overload issue.

And when you run the right labs, this becomes very clear.

I see this all the time — people treating the thyroid while the real drivers continue unchecked.

The body can’t heal in an environment that keeps signaling danger.

If this sounds familiar, it may be time to stop managing symptoms and start creating a safer internal environment for healing.

You don’t need more guessing.
You need clarity, context, and support.
