This morning, MAC Assistant Director Tim Gaughan attended an event for state Rep. Natalie Price (D-Berkley), a co-sponsor of the MAC-developed chargeback bill, House Bill 5478. Rep. Price represents Michigan’s 6th House District, which is located in Oakland County and includes the cities of Berkley and Huntington Woods, as well as portions of Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak, Southfield, and Southfield Township. A second-term member of the Michigan House, Rep. Price announced last year that she would be running for the Michigan Senate’s 10th District seat in 2026. The 10th District stretches across parts of Oakland and Macomb Counties, including all of Berkley, Center Line, Clawson, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Madison Heights, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak, Royal Oak Township, and part of Warren.

Earlier today, MAC Assistant Director Tim Gaughan attended an event for state Rep. Joe Aragona, a member of the Michigan House Insurance Committee. He also chairs the House Regulatory Reform Committee and serves as Majority Vice Chair of the House Rules Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee. He is serving his second term in the Michigan House. Rep. Aragona represents Michigan’s 60th House District, located in Macomb County and including the northern part of Clinton Township, the majority of Macomb Township, and part of Chesterfield Township.

Earlier today, MAC Assistant Director attended an event for state Rep. Mark Tisdel (R-Rochester Hills), Majority Vice Chair of the Michigan House Insurance Committee, the body charged with evaluating any legislation dealing with various issues related to insurance, including private health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, and auto insurance. Rep. Tisdel also serves as a member of the House Health Policy Committee, which is responsible for deliberating on issues related to public health, health professionals, mental health and wellness, and overall access to healthcare. These committees often work hand-in-hand on issues affecting the chiropractic profession. Rep. Tisdel represents the 55th House District, which is located in Oakland County and includes Rochester, Rochester Hills, and part of Oakland Charter Township.

Last night, MAC Chairman of the Board Dr. Robert Markle, Director of Internal Affairs Dr. Eric Hartman, and Government Relations Committee Chair Dr. Chris Dolecki attended events surrounding Governor Whitmer’s State of the State Address in Lansing. At one event, the group met with state Rep. Phil Green (R-Millington), who isn't just a supporter of the MAC-developed, bipartisan chargeback bill, House Bill 5478, he's also a co-sponsor! The group also discussed the bill with state Rep. Joe Tate of Detroit, a member of the House Insurance Committee. Thanks, docs, for getting involved and doing everything possible to pass the chargeback bill!

Yesterday, MAC Chairman of the Board Dr. Robert Markle and Assistant Director Tim Gaughan met with Michigan House Insurance Committee Chair Mike Harris (R-Waterford) and Committee member Rep. Bill G. Schuette (R-Midland) on House Bill 5478, the MAC-developed chargeback bill. Chairman Harris, whose parents are both chiropractors, represents the 52nd House District, which is located in Oakland County and includes the cities of Lake Angelus and Clarkston, Independence Township, and portions of Springfield and Waterford townships. Rep. Schuette represents the 95th District, which includes all of Midland County, and Beaverton, Billings and To***co townships in Gladwin County. Thanks, Chairman Harris and Rep. Big news for chiropractic & Michigan’s first responders!

The MAC, in partnership with the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services, has launched a first-of-its-kind EMS Chiropractic Care Pilot Program — funded by the Michigan Chiropractic Foundation (MCF).

This innovative pilot will deliver early, conservative chiropractic care to EMS professionals — helping prevent injuries, reduce lost workdays, and protect the workforce that protects all of us.

The program begins with Tri-Hospital EMS and is designed to scale across Michigan and beyond.

Funding from MCF will:
*Deploy a mobile Discovery X-ray unit for on-site diagnostics;
*Deliver near-site chiropractic care within defined visit limits;
*Track participation, engagement, and measurable outcomes; and,
*Build a scalable model for expansion in 2027 and beyond.
