Pain Management Center of Lansing

We provide comprehensive interventional pain management treatments to help improve your pain.

The expertise of our Michigan pain specialists includes diagnosis of all types of acute and chronic pain conditions, as well as pharmacologic recommendations/management, advanced interventional pain management techniques, and individual and group-based pain psychology programs. We can also provide patients with information and appropriate referrals relating to other modalities of pain management, including rehabilitation medicine and physical therapy. At the Pain Management Center of Lansing, we know that pain is subjective, meaning everyone feels pain differently. We also know that pain is not just physical; rather, it can affect functional, emotional, and psychological aspects of one’s life as well. For these reasons, we apply a multidisciplinary approach to pain management and create an individualized treatment plan for each patient so that they can expect the most comprehensive, effective, and least invasive treatment for their pain complaints.

MEET THE PROVIDERS: Narasimha Gundamraj, MD

1. Where did you grow up: In a beautiful country called India
2. Education: Andhra Medical College India, University of Illinois, Chicago Gen surgery residency, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Anesthesiology and Pain Management.
3. Family: My wife is a Neonatologist (that means more smarter than me). My son is a Sophomore in college, daughter is a Sophomore in high school.
4. Hobbies and interests: Walking, Yoga, Meditation, Learning to play Violin, enjoy nature and astronomy.
5. Something people wouldn't know about you: Look at the picture. Also love music of Gun's and Roses.
6. Favorite sport's teams: My kid's Lacrosse teams
7. Favorite Vacation spots: India, Costa Rica, anywhere in the countryside and nature.
8. Bucket list vacations: Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, Space!
9. Why I got into Medicine: Loved sciences throughout school and college. Always felt sympathy and compassion for people suffering and wanted to help them as a physician.

▪️Where you grew up - Battle Creek, MI
▪️ Education and training - Undergraduate BSN degree at Michigan State University. Graduate MSN degree at Michigan State University.
▪️ Something about your family - My husband of 26 years and I are recent empty nesters. Our children are ages 20 and 24.
▪️ Hobbies/interests/etc - Traveling, hiking, golfing, skiing, spending time with family and friends.
▪️ Something fun people wouldn’t know about you - I like to skydive!
▪️ Favorite sports/teams - Anything Michigan State!
▪️ Favorite vacation destinations or bucket list trips - My favorite destinations are Marquette, MI and Colorado. Bucket list is a long list! But includes Scotland, Greece and Hawaii.
▪️ Why you got into medicine - I’ve always wanted to be involved in the nursing profession. I love every aspect to health and medicine and enjoy improving people's health and quality of life.

Medical School- Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.

▪Something about your family: I have two daughters ages 6 and 3
▪Hobbies and interests: Traveling, spending time with my family, watching movies and attending sporting events
▪Something fun people wouldn’t know about you: My first job was working at a gym in my hometown. I did a little bit of everything from working the front desk to selling gym memberships.
▪Favorite sports/teams: University of Michigan athletics and all 4 Detroit sports teams unfortunately
▪Favorite vacation destinations or bucket list trips: Hawaii and Italy. Bucket list includes Spain and Japan
▪Why you got into medicine: I went into medicine to help others and to make a positive impact on my community. I always enjoyed science throughout my schooling as well as my clinical experience in college at the University of Michigan hospital while doing clinical research.
