A glimpse into 1967.

This small advertisement features an early illustration of what is now our Tiffany Chapel - a space that has served families in our community for generations.

While much has changed over the years, the heart behind the work remains the same: a commitment to personal, thoughtful care for every family we serve.

It’s a privilege to continue that legacy today.

Losing a spouse or life partner is a profound and life-changing loss.

In the early days, it can be difficult to know how to help someone who is grieving. You may want to offer something meaningful, while also being mindful not to overwhelm them.

Often, the most thoughtful gestures are simple and practical. A meal, help around the home, or a grocery delivery can ease some of the day-to-day burdens during an already heavy time.

Other gentle ways to show support might include:
• A journal and pen, offering space to process thoughts and emotions
• A candle or flowers, sent at a later time as a quiet reminder they are not alone
• Remembering important dates, such as anniversaries or holidays, when grief can feel especially present

Above all, your continued presence matters most. Checking in, offering a listening ear, and simply showing up can bring comfort in ways that words sometimes cannot.

Losing a pet can be one of the most difficult goodbyes.

They are constant companions, part of our daily routines, and often feel like family in every sense of the word. When they are gone, the loss can be deeply felt and takes time to process.

If someone you care about is grieving the loss of a pet, a small, thoughtful gesture can mean a great deal. Something that honors that bond and helps preserve their memory can bring comfort in a meaningful way.

A few ideas to consider:
• A personalized keepsake, like a garden stone or framed photo
• A small gift that reflects their pet’s personality or favorite place
• A donation to a local organization, such as Capital Area Humane Society, in their pet’s name

Above all, acknowledging their loss and simply being there can make all the difference.

This Easter season, we are reminded of the quiet ways renewal finds us.

At Tiffany Chapel, we are honored to be a place where families come together to reflect, remember, and find comfort.

Wishing you peace and renewal this season.

Finding the right words after a loss is not always easy.

When someone you care about is grieving, you may worry about what to say, or whether you might say the wrong thing. The truth is, there are no perfect words. What matters most is simply showing that you care.

A kind, sincere message can bring comfort in ways you may not even realize. Letting someone know they are not alone can mean everything.

If you are unsure where to begin, here are a few simple thoughts to guide you:

“I’m deeply sorry for your loss. I’m here for whatever you need.”

“My heart goes out to you. You are in my thoughts.”

“Thinking of you and your family and sending all my love.”

“We are holding you and your loved ones close in our hearts.”

Even the smallest message can offer meaningful support during a difficult time.

March is Social Work Month, a time to recognize the compassion, dedication, and quiet strength of social workers in our community.

Every day, social workers walk alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult moments. Their care, advocacy, and support create space for healing, understanding, and hope.

At Tiffany Chapel, we are grateful for the partnerships we share with social workers who help guide families through loss and grief with such professionalism and heart.

Thank you for the difference you make, NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief, not only in moments of need, but in the lasting impact you have on so many lives.

March is Social Work Month, and the NACG is proud to recognize the compassionate, dedicated social workers in our alliance. Your commitment to supporting children and teens who are grieving creates a meaningful, lasting impact. Because of you, more young people feel seen, supported, and less alone in their grief. Thank you. 💙
