Thank you for all of the anniversary wishes! 👰 🤵 💒 3️⃣8️⃣

As I reflect on being a (very young) newlywed, I laugh now thinking about the moments of me first cooking for John and I.

I was 19, and the most I had cooked while living at home was making pancakes, scrambled eggs and mac n cheese. 🥴

I remember that phone call to my mom when I decided to make pork chops, mashed potatoes and a veggie (I think).

"Mom, how do you know when to cook things so that they will all be done at the same time!?"

I was truly baffled.

I would then go on to buy the budget friendly Hamburger Helper and also offer up the ole "Sh-- on a Shingle".

We learned a lot back then.

John did not like a lot of that stuff. Ha!

Over time, with the help of both of our moms as well as gaining experience, swapping recipes with girlfriends and such, through the years, I learned how to be a better cook. And I truly have always enjoyed it.

Who would think that I now prepare truly healthy, delicious meals - for not only John and I, but many households nearby.
