Every soccer mom + dad knows the feeling of watching their daughter go down on the field.

The New York Times just confirmed what the research has shown for years (link in stories) teen girls are uniquely vulnerable to ACL tears, and the sports world is failing to protect them.

Dr. Stacy Sims has spent her career explaining why female athletes require a completely different approach. Their hormones, their anatomy, their neuromuscular patterns, all of it creates a specific vulnerability that generic training simply does not address.

😔The injury rate for teenage girls has grown 32% in the last 15 years.

šŸ’ŖšŸ¼Most of it is preventable.

😔Almost none of it is being prevented.

The problem isn’t the sport.

It’s that girls are being put on fields without the strength, the movement mechanics, or the body awareness to protect themselves, and when they get hurt, they’re sent to physical therapy and discharged before they’re actually ready to perform again.

That gap between ā€œclearedā€ and ā€œconfidentā€ is where we work!

At Madison Ave Strength Lab, Matteo trains soccer players specifically. Not to simply get them faster or stronger, but to build the precise mechanics that keep young female athletes on the field, through their seasons, through their careers.
And when injury has already happened, when your daughter has been cleared but doesn’t feel like herself yet, doesn’t trust her body yet, that’s where the real work begins. The physical rebuilding. The mental rebuilding. Both matter here.

The New York Times is talking about this now.
Dr. Sims has been talking about this for years.
We’ve been doing something about it.

I’m going to be honest with you, as the owner of this place along with being Sasha’s mom.

Watching these girls train on Friday nights hits different for me , I actually get emotional because I’m a mom. My daughter is 12 years old and plays competitive soccer, and every week I watch something shift in these girls that I can’t quite put into words.

Four Fridays in. One hour each week. And it’s not just their bodies getting stronger, it’s their minds.

But here’s what makes these sessions unlike anything else: Matteo isn’t just a trainer. He plays soccer. He understands the sport from the inside out, the physicality of it, the battles for the ball, the moments where strength is the difference between holding your ground and getting knocked off it.

He knows exactly what a 12 or 13 year old female athlete needs to stay strong, stay on the field, and stop getting pushed around.

That combination of sport knowledge and strength expertise? You can’t fake it. And these girls feel it.

Watching them start to connect those dots …that the work they do in this gym on Friday nights shows up on the field, is one of the most beautiful things I’ve witnessed in this space.

If your daughter plays soccer and you want to know what these sessions actually look like, DM us. Matteo will talk to you directly.

Not all gyms are created equal. šŸ–¤

While other facilities in the area are running free trials, new member specials, and opening their doors to ANYONE who walks in , we do things differently.

Madison Ave Strength Lab was built with intention. Capped members. WHY? Because a truly elite experience can’t be MASS produced.

Our members are high-performing professionals who demand more… such as premium equipment from & .

Personalized programming from results driven coaches, along with a A 7,000 sq. ft. space designed to feel like nothing else in Westchester.

This isn’t a CrossFit box. It’s not a group class gym. It’s NOT for everyone and that’s exactly the point.
If you know, you know. šŸ–¤

The Science of the ā€œLabā€ Protocol. 🧪

If you aren’t training with a plan, you’re just exercising.

Zach (CSCS) recently audited his programming, moving from a body-part split to a high-frequency Upper/Lower Split.

Here is the CSCS-level breakdown of why this matters for your results:

1. The 48-Hour Growth Window: Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS) typically returns to baseline 48 hours after training. By hitting Upper Body twice a week instead of once, we keep the muscle in a ā€œgrowth stateā€ for 100% of the week.

2. Central Nervous System (CNS) Management: Training ā€œchest/backā€ on Monday and ā€œshoulders/armsā€ on Tuesday often overlaps the same joints and neural pathways. Moving to an Upper/Lower split provides a true 48-hour recovery window for the nervous system.

3. Mechanical Tension: Utilizing our Technogym line allows for perfect bio-mechanical alignment. When combined with this new frequency, we maximize mechanical tension, the primary driver of hypertrophy.

Stop guessing. Start measuring.

Zach has a limited number of assessment slots available this month for those ready to move from ā€œexerciseā€ to ā€œElite Programming.ā€

Twas a Saturday morning, before Christmas Day,
When the Bootcamp crew showed up in the usual way.
While visions of cookies danced in SOME heads,
They chose SkiErgs + goblet squats instead!

Michael pulled hard on the SkiErg with might,
Chasing numbers like Santa in flight.

Dana sank deep in her goblet squat groove,
Strong and steady, no wasted move.

Carley hit sit ups, up down, no cheat,
Smiling through abs that were begging for retreat.

Amy snapped ropes like a holiday show,
Waves flying high in the red and green glow.

And Matteo stood tall, bossing left, bossing right,
Cueing form, calling reps, keeping everyone tight.
ā€œChest up! Breathe! Again!ā€ he would say,
Like a fitness elf running Christmas Day.

Sweat hit the turf, laughter filled the room,
December discipline in full bloom.

No one skipped, no one strayed,
This crew shows up no matter the date.

So cheers to the crew that trains through the cheer,
Stronger this Christmas than they were last year.

Same time, same grind, no need to ask
Because this Bootcamp crew doesn’t dodge the task. šŸŽ„šŸ”„

šŸŽ„ Strength in Numbers, Holiday Edition šŸŽ„

In the Lab where the lights glow soft and bright,
gathers her crew, morning or night.

Women come in with courage and cheer,
Lifting more than weights as the holidays near.

They squat, they laugh, they grow week by week,
Finding strong bodies and spirits to keep.

Not about mirrors or numbers or size,
But confidence glowing right out of their eyes.

So here’s to the group that shows up together,
Through cold winter mornings and all kinds of weather.

Strength in Numbers, hearts full and strong
This is where Christmas and confidence belong.

What slips through one person’s hands becomes a masterpiece in someone else’s, and that’s exactly what happened when Joanne walked into the Lab.

Where she was overlooked before, she’s valued, seen, and celebrated here in the Lab.

is not just thriving… she’s part of the heart of this place.

And like myself in this industry, she didn’t manifest this by accident … she EARNED it with consistency, integrity, and the way she shows up for every woman who walks through that door.

As the owner of this place, I’m grateful she is here, and I’m proud of the coach she is and am so excited for her future !
Happy one year anniversary Jo!! šŸ’›šŸ’›
