Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar hosted the 12th annual Share-A-Bear distribution event this morning.

Doctors Hospital team members Perla Chavez, Rosa Rodriguez and Leslie Garcia received teddy bear donations to share with young patients at ER South, ER Saunders, ER Wright Ranch and the Doctors Hospital main campus.

We were proud to host a Colorectal Cancer Awareness Health Fair alongside Laredo Physicians Group and several local organizations.

Participants received valuable information on prevention, early detection and treatment options for colorectal cancer.

Thank you to Dr. Hernan Sanchez, colorectal surgeon with Laredo Physicians Group; Dr. Alfredo Camero Jr., gastroenterologist; and Dr. Triptesh Chaudhury, radiation oncologist with Laredo Physicians Group, for sharing their knowledge and expertise on this important health topic. We are also grateful to Mayor Victor Treviño for presenting a city proclamation at our event.

We had an amazing time supporting Allie's Bird Project Bowling Tournament this weekend 🎳 Our DHL NICU team came together for a day of fun, teamwork, and community all for a cause that continues to give so much back to our patients and families.

The YRCS Program supports teens and young adults by helping them build positive connections, develop life skills and give back to their community. This service project—assembling and distributing festive goody bags—encourages youth to reflect on their luck, their blessings and the importance of spreading kindness.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week is March 8–14, and Doctors Hospital of Laredo is recognizing its Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. This year’s theme is “Inhale Confidence, Exhale Limits.”

Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed for people living with chronic lung disease and for patients recovering from lung surgery. The program is part of the hospital’s expanded cardiopulmonary rehabilitation unit and provides access to monitoring devices, an indoor walking track and specialized rehabilitation exercise equipment.

For individuals with lung disease, pulmonary rehabilitation aims to enhance quality of life and reduce symptoms. For more information about the program, call 956-523-2779.

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, in Laredo, TX, is a 183-bed acute care facility that offers a range of medical services, including 24-hour emergency care, weight-loss surgery, wound care and hyperbaric medicine and comprehensive women’s health services.

The hospital is also a regional leader in cancer care. Since 1987, cancer specialists at Doctors Hospital have been working with healthcare professionals from leading cancer facilities in the community to find the best ways to diagnose and treat patients so they can start a road to recovery.

The Heart and Vascular Center at Doctors Hospital provides expert care for patients experiencing heart attack, heart disease, and other cardiac conditions. The hospital recently invested $2.7 million to expand and remodel its advanced cardiac surgical suite, which is dedicated exclusively to open-heart procedures. In 2016, surgeons performed the 100th open heart surgery at Doctors Hospital.
