On this Veterans Day, we honor your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to our nation. You are the backbone of our freedom and the heart of our community. In times of peace and in times of conflict, your service has shaped our history and safeguarded our future.

Today’s Veterans Day Parade united more than 35 groups—community organizations, neighbors, and especially Veterans—to celebrate service, sacrifice, and unity.

The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) stands with you—not just today, but every day—with deep gratitude and respect. Thank you for your strength, your stories, and your lasting impact.

🕊️ On November 6th, the Laredo community gathered for the 24th Annual White Mass for Healthcare Professionals—a tradition that honors St. Luke, Patron of Physicians, and celebrates the healing vocation.

For over two decades, this Mass has served as a heartfelt reminder to bless our healthcare providers, the unwavering backbone of a healthy and thriving community.

It was a beautiful day for a visit!

On Friday, November 7th, the AHEC Team traveled to Willacy County to join the Willacy County Health Coalition. The coalition gathered to share vital resources and support available to Willacy residents. It was wonderful reconnecting with everyone and strengthening our shared commitment to community health.

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Veterans This November

This month, the Area Health Education Center proudly recognizes and celebrates the service of our Veterans. On November 6th, we gathered for the Red, White, and Blue Veterans Mass at San Agustin Cathedral in Laredo, Texas, where Rev. Iden J. Bello offered heartfelt blessings to those in attendance.

Following the Mass, the celebration continued at the American Legion with a special luncheon sponsored by Prominence Health.

Our tribute to Veterans continues on Tuesday, November 11th with the Veterans Day Parade.
