We often chase people who make us feel seen for a moment, clinging to the temporary warmth of their attention as if it can fill the spaces we’ve ignored within ourselves. But in doing so, we forget the version of us who has been fighting quietly for years, begging to be noticed, understood, and loved without conditions. That part of us—the tired, soft, aching part—is the one that deserves our loyalty the most. Because the truth is, no amount of validation from someone else can heal what we refuse to acknowledge in ourselves. And maybe the real journey isn’t about being seen by others at all, but finally turning toward the forgotten parts of our own soul and saying, “I see you. I choose you.”
