There are many times that our worries infuse our emotions causing us to literally feel swallowed by a huge wave which turns into a tsunami devouring everything you hold dear and the worst thing is that we are so cut up trying to get out of the wave that we haven't even noticed all the damages that it has caused when it turned into the tsunami that destroyed everything we have built up. sometimes that wave is made out of a disappointment, a lost or brokenness (a broken relationship, promise, trust, friendship).
The hope that we have is that after all is said and done in that stage of destruction. is when we remember what Jesus said the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come to give you rest. in Isaiah 26:3 NKJV says "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You." Jesus says he gives us the peace that surpasses all understanding. and Paul writes that we must renew our mind.
However, for some of us, it is hard to even know where to start. we know what we need to do and deep inside our hear that is all we want to do it, but we don’t know how. I find myself traveling this very same path and after the storm is over and we can see the sun it is then that at the light we can access how big the damages are and that is when the restoration and rebuilding phase starts. This is the most vulnerable and vital moment. The moment of making a choice to answer these questions; what am I going to do? Am I going to surrender it to God and wait on Him? or Am I going to try to fix myself? At the time of answering, we must be aware that whether put it on God’s hands or on ours, both choices require tremendous strength. The choice of putting it on God’s hands it even though it might seem the easiest way. It is indeed the hardest but most rewarding one because it involves letting go and self-control and to be honest to some of us the lack of those trades is what made us an easy prey for the devil, allowing him to steal (control our emotions) to kill (drawing us in despair) and destroy (the aftermath mess, the loss, the brokenness, etc.). The reward and the gain of letting God handle it is so great that the devil will fight us all the way to make us quite by still using our emotions to cause some riot, but, if we don’t give up and fixed our mind on him our final state will be far better than the former one we will enjoy the abundance of his peace and blessings. Now the second option of doing it by our own hands will be a road of greater destruction, since, we don’t know how to fix it and the more we try it will make us more frustrated because is not coming up the way it was before the storm. So, frustration will lead us towards a total destructive path. Please just remember what Isaiah says he will keep us in perfect peace when we trust Him.
