The second night of our anniversary celebration was filled with friendship, joy and fun.

Residents and families filled our community for a formal four-course dinner, prepared entirely in-house and served with nothing short of Platinum Service® by our team. CaraMel's Bakery brought it home with a three-tier dessert. The musical ambiance was provided by the Pinellas Youth Symphony, a meaningful tie to our intergenerational connections. Every detail was intentional. Every seat was full.

The Learning Center families brought some of the most remarkable moments of the night. Hannah, once a TLC child herself, is heading off to college this year. Another former TLC family just welcomed a new baby who will begin their own journey with us. That kind of full circle does not happen at every organization. It happens here because of the relationships this team has built and maintained over decades.

We were also joined by Melissa, who gave 26 years to leading The Learning Center, and Katrina, who gave many years alongside her. Having them back for this meant a lot to the people in that room who remember what they built.

Then came the awards. We recognized 20 team members with 10 to 19 years of service and 14 with 20 or more. The celebration was already warm, but when we surprised Mary W. with The Catalyst Award and Peter S. with Heart of Operations, it shifted as laughter and applause filled the room!

Platinum & Pearls | A Night Thirty Years in the Making

Three milestones. One room. A lot of history walking through the door.

The Platinum & Pearls Professional Cocktail Reception kicked off our 30th anniversary celebration for Cypress Palms and The Learning Center, and our 10th anniversary for Rock Steady Boxing at The Palms of Largo. Community partners, vendors, fellow regional teams, Area Agency on Aging of Pinellas-Pasco, local commissioner Chris Johnson and members of Largo law enforcement, including Officer Joel Q., helped make the event truly special.

Our dining team kept the hors d’oeuvres moving, Oak & Iris Mobile Bar Services ran the bar with special cocktails and mocktails, and the Serenade Events String Duo provided the musical ambiance.

What stood out most during the gathering was how many conversations circled back to the same topics. Children who grew up at The Learning Center are now raising families of their own. Generations of families have trusted Cypress Palms with someone they love. For many in attendance, our communities are woven into the fabric of their lives in ways that extend far beyond today. Thirty years earns that. This was just the first night of three.

We are so proud of our residents this week! 💪🌎

From climbing Mount Everest 🏔️ to tightrope walking high above the clouds, racing dirt bikes through the mud and even parasailing over the ocean, they have truly been keeping us on our toes with their adventurous spirits!

Here at Cypress Palms, we always say age is just a number, and our residents are proving there is nothing they cannot do when they set their minds to it. Stay tuned — we are not sure what they will try next! 😄

Parkinson’s is a progressive, degenerative neurological disorder that affects more than 10 million individuals worldwide. April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, and our goal is to help raise awareness while providing support and resources for those impacted.

Rock Steady Boxing at The Palms of Largo, an affiliate program of Rock Steady Boxing Inc., enables individuals with Parkinson’s to fight back through non-contact, boxing-style fitness programs that are designed to improve quality of life, senses of efficacy, and self-worth. Exercise plays a crucial role in managing Parkinson's by slowing its progression, reducing pain, and enhancing a person's ability to stay independent. The program inspires maximum effort in order to reap the “neuro-protective” benefits of exercise and delay the symptoms of this disease.

Our Pearls of Life® residents recently hosted a Strawberry Festival with the kiddos from The Learning Center, and it was such a sweet afternoon! In true Montessori style, our residents took the lead by preparing delicious strawberry shortcakes for the children while the little ones enjoyed games, laughter and even picked out a few fun temporary tattoos!

Moments like these remind us how special intergenerational connections can be. The strawberries were definitely sweet, but the memories were even sweeter! 🍓✨
