Today at 2:17 am on the 27 August 2022, the moon aligned with the sun in the very practical sign of Virgo at 4 degrees 4 minutes. When these 2 luminaries come together, we have a new moon, which starts a new 28-day cycle of energy in the sign in which it occurs. New moons are new beginnings.
Virgo rules health, routine, work, small animals and service, as well as discernment and discrimination. And Virgos are very discerning people, so use this energy to help you discern what changes are necessary in the areas where 4 degrees 4 minutes of Virgo are found in your birth chart. Virgo energy is great for starting a new health or diet routine or to set goals and to organize areas that need it. You may find yourself starting a new job or a different job in the same area in which you are already working. This would also be a good time to look for that family pet the kids have been begging for.
This can be a difficult new moon as it is squaring the planet Mars at 4 degrees Gemini. Mars is associated with anger, frustration, anxiety, aggression, war and defensiveness and the moon deals with our emotions. Virgo and Gemini are both ruled by the planet Mercury which is about communication. So, people may be responding to you in an angry way or you may be inclined to respond to others with angry words. Everyone is feeling these emotions so try not to provoke anyone as it’s sure to ignite someone’s anger and frustration, and possibly violence. We will all be on edge during this moon cycle so please try to curb your impatience, anger, frustration and impulsiveness. You may feel the urge to overspend to compensate for your frustrations, so be cautious with your money and resources during this period as it could lead to impulsive purchases. And definitely don’t get into some road rage incidents as they are more likely to happen since Mercury also rules automobiles.
At the new moon, Venus (resources and relationships) will also be opposing Saturn (restrictions, limitations) so expect frustration in these areas. Saturn also rules delays and responsibilities, so you can expect these to occur in the areas of your resources and relationships. Venus is also in a hard aspect to Uranus so expect things happening suddenly and unexpectedly in the areas of money and relationships.
Transiting Saturn in Aquarius is still squaring transiting Uranus in Ta**us. Saturn restricts while Uranus quickly disrupts! Aquarius rules friendships and Ta**us rules resources. The theme again is restructuring your relationships, your resources and your values.
