Crossroads Community Supported Healthcare is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization (doing business as Crossroads Acupuncture) whose mission is to make healthcare accessible and affordable to people of all income levels through the support of local communities. We do this through providing low-cost services, training health providers in cost-effective techniques, and helping underserved groups establish and sustain their own community supported health projects. Programs

1. Low-Cost Services: We provide services at the lowest cost possible for people seeking care, regardless of class, income level, s*x, s*xual orientation, religion, race or ethnicity. Access to health care is a human right and it is our mission to work in every way to allow our community can access care when they need help. Crossroads has provided over 25,000 treatments since we started. If you’d like to make an appointment at our community acupuncture clinic, click here.

2. Capacity Building: We train local providers in cost-effective techniques such as acudetox/ear acupuncture and moxa. We realize that techniques such as acupuncture are much more effectively administered and more accessible to low-income groups when front-line health providers have the capacity to provide protocol based treatments for the patients that they serve. Our trainees work within a variety of self-help, addictions, medical and behavioral health programs, primarily within impoverished areas targeting the indigent, the poor and underserved groups. To date, we have trained over 170 providers who have offered more than 35,000 treatments since 2011.Las Cruces Acupuncture El Paso

Our training program fulfills requirements for national and state NADA certification in Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS). Email crossroadsacu@gmail.com for more information on receiving this training. Learn more about the Crossroads Border Project …

3. Consultation: We also help underserved groups establish and sustain their own community-supported health projects. Our consultation has offered support for churches, recovery programs, shelters for the homeless and mentally ill, IMG_0322orphanages, and for free medical clinics such as St. Luke’s Health Clinic at the Community of Hope in Las Cruces. Consultation we offer includes technical support, curriculum development, clinic supply distribution, evaluation, public policy research and guidance for regulatory issues. Tension and trauma can live deep in our bodies—shaping our moods, focus, and overall health. In this online class, we’ll explore safe, body-based tools to gently release stored stress, restore balance, and reconnect with our natural resilience.

✨ Why it matters:
All proceeds from this event support our Barefoot Medicine Movement in Guatemala, helping survivors of genocide rebuild lives through community-based healing. Your participation (or donation) directly funds local “barefoot heroes” providing trauma-informed care to those who need it most.

💻 Can’t attend? You can still make a difference.

Our trauma immersion program in Guatemala this coming February will teach you a simple and effective somatic release technique known as “TRE” or Trauma and Tension Release Exercises. You’ll learn from Park Hea-Joo, Director of TRE Life Asia and TRE trainer for the Korea National Trauma Center.

WHAT IS TRE?
* A series of exercises designed to activate reflexes deep inside your nervous system and myo-fascial system.
* This “somatic release” technique allows your body to literally shake off stress, tension, trauma, anxiety and “old” stories.
* Like Barefoot Acupuncture & acudetox, this tool is designed to put in the hands of front-line disaster relief and community health workers.

We still have a few spots left for our Guatemalan Immersion applicants. If you’re new to TRE, you can join our online workshop on Nov 7: From Trauma Release to Inner Resilience. Learn more and register at crossroadsacupuncture.com

Tension and trauma can lurk deep within our muscles and nervous system muscles, and can contribute to our emotional highs and lows, and impact our entire health. Our crazy world leaves us with pain, depression, anxiety, overthinking, difficulty focusing, fatigue and autoimmune illness.

How can we safely and gently learn from, work with, be with your big & powerful energy, and at the same time release old stories we cling to so we can be our most resilient self? How can we hold space for ourselves, and everyone else in the crazy world, as we feel the feels of up and down, all the intense and subtle, sometimes even overwhelming energetic, mood and emotional states in between?

At this online, workshop, Crossroads Acupuncture will raise funds for our Barefoot medicine movement in Guatemala, where we work with survivors of genocide. Donate whatever you can: $10 or more, to support the barefoot heroes we walk with in our non-profit organization. Facilitated by Ryan Bemis, you’ll be step-by-step instructions in Trauma and Tension Release Exercises (TRE).
