Think you might have the flu? Here’s what to do to take care of yourself and protect others:

- Stay home and rest. Avoid work, school or public places. Rest helps your body fight the infection and prevents it from spreading to others.

- Monitor your symptoms. Keep track of severity, duration and any changes in symptoms like fever, chills, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, headache, runny or stuffy nose.

- Hydrate and manage symptoms. Drink plenty of water or herbal tea. Over-the-counter medications can help with symptoms. Avoid alcohol and smoking.

- Seek medical care if needed. Call your healthcare provider if you experience trouble breathing, chest pain, severe weakness, confusion, persistent high fever or worsening symptoms, especially if you are pregnant, older or have chronic conditions. Early treatment can help reduce complications.

- Protect your community. Cover coughs and sneezes, wash your hands frequently and stay home until you’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication.

🔔✨ Another bell ringing celebration! ✨🔔

Joseph Ralph Benford marked the beginning of a new chapter by completing 6 weeks of radiation treatment for prostate cancer. He and his wife were very appreciative of the care our Radiation Oncology team provided to him throughout his treatment course. Their incredible gratitude further reinforces our commitment to caring for our community.

Every bell ringing represents strength, perseverance, and hope. Each ring tells a powerful story, and we’re honored to witness these moments every day.

Show your heart some love! 💌

It’s Valentine’s Day and February is American Heart Month – a time to celebrate all our hearts do for us, and to recognize what we can do to keep our hearts healthy.

Numbers can tell us plenty about our heart health and where it’s headed – from blood pressure to cholesterol to blood sugar. For some people, one key painless and non-invasive test is a cardiac calcium scoring CT – the only screening test we have for asymptomatic individuals.

This exam measures calcium blockages in our heart vessels and determines the risk of developing heart disease as we age.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Week (February 9–15) is a time to recognize the life-changing impact of cardiac rehab and the dedicated team behind it. After a cardiac event, the journey forward can feel uncertain, but no one has to walk it alone.

Our skilled team works together to gently guide patients back to strength, confidence, and quality of life. As one of our patients shared, “Life is good.” That’s why we do what we do.

Saeed Shojaee Named MMC Laboratorian of the Year!

Please join us in congratulating Saeed Shojaee on being selected as this year’s Memorial Medical Center Laboratorian of the Year. The recognition comes as no surprise to those who work alongside him every day. Known for his dedication, positive attitude, and willingness to step in wherever needed, Saeed embodies what it means to be a true team player.

Colleagues describe him as someone who is “always available to cover any shift” and who “will help anyone out with any questions.” Whether assisting in another department without being asked, helping process specimens during busy shifts, or simply bringing snacks and pastries to share, Saeed consistently uplifts those around him. As one team member shared, “Walking into the lab and seeing Saeed is always a joy.”

Saeed has dedicated 35 tremendous years to Memorial, beginning his journey in the lab after earning his medical technology degree in 1987.
