Meet Mumtaz Faridi, Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine Mission Medicine Student Doctor. 👨⚕️👩⚕️ Originally from Baltimore, MD, Mumtaz aspires to give back to her community—especially the underserved—by not only providing medical care but truly listening to her patients' concerns and experiences. “I want to help bridge the gap in healthcare, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to quality care. By focusing on prevention and the whole person, I aim to foster long-term health and improve the overall quality of life for my patients”, she said. 💜
At Aprendamos, she will be working alongside our team to gain hands-on experience in early intervention, autism services, children’s therapy, home visiting, and more. When we asked her what she hopes to accomplish during her time with us as a Mission Medicine Student, Mumtaz said, “I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how early intervention, collaborative education, and promoting equity can positively impact families. Having a sister with Down syndrome, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound effect that support, consistent resources, and opportunities for individuals to reach their full potential can have—not just on the individual, but on the entire family. I look forward to giving back to the local community that I now call home and learning from my peers along the way. I am so excited to be with the children and their families and am very grateful to be a part of this opportunity.” 😀
Thank you for joining Aprendamos in your Mission Medicine journey, Mumtaz. We look forward to seeing the impact you will create in our community! 🌟
