Our fight for patient access is finally being heard by our lawmakers. HB 99 cleared the first committee BUT a last minute amendment excluded 80% physicians in our state.
The bill in its current state would likely benefit Integrative Medical Center and other private practice primary care physicians, but as a patient, not as much. Specialists such as neurosurgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, etc., need expensive equipment and hospital facilities to do their job. If the bill remains with the surprise amendment #3 in place, we will continue to struggle with inadequate speciality care to serve New Mexicans. Please call your legislators IMMEDIATELY and tell them to support House Bill 99 amended to its original form.
