You could have bought anything else today, but you chose to feed abandoned dogs. Your compassion is their hope. Thank you for being their voice 🐾

It’s finally happening in Australia - pets are being welcomed into the cabin. No more cargo holds for our dogs on these flights. My heart.

Virgin Australia has started a trial that lets small cats and dogs sit with their humans in the main cabin on specific domestic routes. Pets ride in an approved soft carrier under the seat. The airline limits it to four pets per flight to keep things calm and safe.

The trial runs between Melbourne and the Gold Coast and Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast. If it goes well, they plan to expand it. It’s the first time an Australian airline has offered this to regular passengers, and it follows new approvals that cleared the way.

There are rules. Pet plus carrier can’t exceed 8 kg. You need to book ahead and check in early. Some rows are set aside so everyone knows where pets will be. Cats are currently on the Melbourne - Sunshine Coast route only, while dogs can fly both routes.

Safety got attention too. HEPA filters refresh the air from ceiling to floor, and pets stay in their carriers. If you or your pet has special needs, there are options to seat you away from animals. Vets recommend a checkup, and flat-faced breeds may need extra care.

Most of all, this means holiday memories don’t have to start with a goodbye at the cargo door. For many of us, that’s huge. Here’s to more wagging tails at the window seat.

Must share. He was a beautiful white Shepard “Rasta”, inspired many as his owner shared many beautiful videos of Switzerland and him. One of my very favorites.

Rasta's gift

Rasta had a gift. He could be thrilled by small things. He had the gift of making the best of every situation. He turned rainy weather into an adventure and gave a wild stream the significance of a swimming pool. He loved snow as if it were millions of sparkling diamonds. Even in the final phase of his life, he was able to enjoy riding around in a wheelchair—because he always focused on the positive things.
That's why his legacy will always remind me to look for the good in every situation. He showed that this is the best way to get through life and bring additional hope and joy to other people. He continues to do this even after his death. These are true legends.

This dog and photography live on. He is deceased, but his beauty and videos live on.

When I watch the old videos of my beloved Rasta today, I realise what I took for granted back then. His enthusiasm for little things, his attention towards me, his determination to make the best of every situation and, above all, the way he looked at me, without prejudice, without doubt and full of trust.
It's not that I took him for granted, but somehow I wasn't as aware then as I am today of how unique he was.
He remains unforgotten.

👉 Comet 3I/ATLAS is making headlines again — and this time, it’s all about its surprising size.
Initial estimates suggested the comet was just 1–2 miles wide, but new and far more precise observations now show it may actually span 7 to 11 miles. This major revision has sparked fresh excitement among astronomers and skywatchers worldwide.

When 3I/ATLAS was first detected, scientists were working with limited data, which made the comet appear much smaller. With the help of stronger telescopes and improved measurement techniques, researchers have now obtained a clearer picture — revealing that this comet is far larger and more substantial than originally believed. A comet of this size carries far more material and can react differently to sunlight, heat, and gravitational forces.

Understanding its true dimensions is crucial for experts studying its motion and behavior within our solar system. While 3I/ATLAS poses no danger to Earth, accurately tracking its path helps astronomers predict future interactions with planets and other cosmic bodies. It also offers deeper insight into how massive comets shape the space environment around them.

This updated size estimate adds another layer of intrigue to 3I/ATLAS — especially at a time when several other mysterious objects have been spotted entering our solar system. Together, these discoveries highlight just how dynamic and unpredictable space really is, and how much we still have to learn.

For astronomy enthusiasts, this is an exciting moment. With its unexpectedly large size, 3I/ATLAS has become one of the most fascinating comets studied in recent years, capturing the imagination of both scientists and the public alike.
