It is with great sadness to announce the passing of the renowned International HIV/AIDS Activist, Hydeia Broadbent on February 20, 2024. Ms. Broadbent exemplified true excellence with being an advocate voice in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Her smile lite up a room while her passion was felt world wide as she stood in the midst of giants. She traveled across the country to tell her story, educate, and uplift those who became another status of this epidemic. I was honored to have known her and to be a support during her life journey. She has left a mark in the Las Vegas community that will be missed. Horizon Ridge Wellness Clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada will continue to carry the torch in the fight to provide integrated behavioral healthcare services that Hydeia worked with, for, and served. Job well done, Rest In Peace My Sister!

We regret to inform you that our Las Vegas Knowledge Is Power Ball in honor of our 9th Annual Las Vegas Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day scheduled for February 24, 2024 has been cancelled. We have made this difficult decision to cancel this year event due to the lack of participation based on the algorithms and analytical data that is derived from views, signals, and data collected. We truly appreciate those who have supported our efforts to engage, outreach, and connect with the community and are in hope that this will continue in our future endures. We do recognize that there has been a lot of thoughts and opinions that do not reflect the agency’s mission and passion to serve our diverse and unique demographics. And we accept the challenge to continue to be a supportive vehicle and advocate for human rights, equality, and crossing barriers.
