What a journey it’s been…

From supporting families in some of their most vulnerable, sacred moments… to sitting at tables advocating for better systems, better care, and better outcomes for us. This work has stretched me, humbled me, and rooted me even deeper in purpose.

I’ve seen firsthand what happens when our voices are heard… and what happens when they’re not.

And still, I show up. For the mamas. For the babies. For the families. For the future.

Being a Black doula isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am in this work.

The goal is to build and strengthen an ecosystem of businesses, nonprofits, and community resources that are all aligned in supporting Nevada families. Especially Black mothers, who are still being overlooked, dismissed, and dying at alarming rates.

Birth trauma isn’t just caused by “a bad provider.” It’s the RESULT of a flawed system that protects itself before it protects patients.

I would say I’m happy that was terminated, but thats not enough!

If you or someone you love was mistreated during labor, please know:
Accountability doesn’t stop at firing one person.

Real change happens when we report the harm at every level….the hospital, the department, the state boards, and federal oversight.

Your voice can create pressure. Pressure creates change. And change protects the next family.

You deserve justice. Your story matters.

Last week, Jacinta’s Blessing of the Hands ceremony was nothing short of sacred. ✨
We gathered in love, in legacy, and in community to honor Cin () on her journey into midwifery.

To everyone who attended, thank you! Your energy, your blessings, your presence made this ceremony everything it was meant to be: grounding, ancestral, affirming, and filled with purpose.

Black midwives have always been the backbone of our communities.
They carried us.
They protected us.
They guided generations through the most vulnerable moments of life.

To see Jacinta rise in that lineage… to see her persevere and step fully into her calling… I am so profoundly proud.
Her journey honors every Grand Midwife who paved the way (known and unknown).

Congratulations, Jacinta. Your hands are blessed. Your path is protected.
And your community is behind you.
