The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides food assistance to more than 477,000 Nevadans, is fully funded by the federal government. New applications for assistance received and approved through Oct. 30, 2025, will receive benefits in October.
If the federal shutdown continues past Oct. 31, 2025, November benefits may be delayed. Applications will still be accepted and processed, but benefits may not be available until federal funding resumes.
The Division of Social Services (DSS) is closely monitoring the federal shutdown and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
