Being the SOLo runner that I am, this is my 2 mile checkpoint “high five tree” 🖐️ Yes, I give THIS tree a high five every morning I run past it. It’s important to listen to your body. Mine said skip the run and rest, so I did, and that’s okay. Sleep is important for improved mood, reduced stress, controlled weight, and so much more. After AM and PM workouts the last three days, I needed this morning to recover and I’m glad I did because I’m already feeling energized and motivated to make it the best day. Always listen to your body!

I have three fitness passions: running which I prefer to do solo, dancing which is always best paired (especially with Kristine Moran 😘), and cycling which is most fun with a group (shout out to Kristine and Derek Glaude for a kick ass workout tonight 🚴‍♀️). Although hitting the gym for group fitness can be fun, it isn’t always appealing (the drive) or possible (summer’s coming to an end, boo). So I’m gearing up for a Bike Block starting August 7th and I would love to have the group dynamic from the comfort of home. It just so happens there’s a promo for the Bodi Bike and you can get yours for half the cost I paid. Let me know if you’re interested in adding to your home gym and would like to join me for this highly motivating and inspirational cycle program. More information to come.

Let’s talk about health esteem! It is the act of appreciating yourself now while working towards the positive changes you’d like to make. It is a skill that you can learn! It is a mindset shift. Instead of exercising because you are dissatisfied with yourself, do it because you value yourself! Instead of eating healthy as a means to restrict yourself, do it because your body deserves the very best nutrition! Establishing a health esteem routine is key to success and it can be as easy as waking at first alarm, reciting self affirmations, hitting your workout early, and shaking up your favorite protein drink. These small steps will lead to bigger ones and eventually you will achieve all your wellness goals! What are some healthy habits that you practice currently or want to add to your health esteem routine?
