Mic Check One Two One Two!

If you would have told me 10 years ago, “Leticia, you are going to be a speaker and you will speak on big stages in front over 1,000 people.” I would have been like whoaaah (Joey Lawerence voice)” No seriesouly I would have doubted it and doubted myself. Well fast forward to present times.

Being on stage speaking is one of my favorite places to be. Do I get nervous? Yes! But only because what I am really feeling is excitement. In fact, nervous and excitement are the same energy it’s just depends on what you choose to lean into.

Me? I choose excitement all day because I really am excited to share the message I’ve prepared to help those out there in the audience take time to pause, use the tools they (and you) have inside, and remind them that they are worthy of stillness and moments to explore within ( look at me, I’m about to get going even here). So, if I get a bit nervous it’s also a signal that I care about the craft and making sure the audience receives what they came to get.

This is me at a recent speaking engagement the day before at sound check. These moments always fill my heart and humble me. Having that moment alone (well semi-alone) looking at the empty seats that will be filled brings immense gratitude.

As we continue to settle into the New Year, I wish for you two things:

1. Take moments to pause and be still
2. Choose the energy of excitement
3. Bonus just have fun!

Pausing doesn’t mean stopping or getting nothing done.
It’s actually the opposite.

Pausing gives you energy.
It gives you awareness.
It gives you your power back.

When you don’t pause, life puts you in the passenger seat.
Meetings, deadlines, expectations, noise everything else drives you where it wants to go. Leaving you feel unsatisfied, burnt out, and frustrated.

So here’s your reminder:
Be the driver in your life, not the passenger.

You’re already equipped.
The tool you can always come back to is your breath it is there
ready to bring you calm, clarity, and maybe just maybe even a moment of bliss. You can do it right now with one deep inhale and relaxing ahhhh….. exhale.

Today isn’t about learning something new.
It’s about remembering to come back to what you what you have inside of you.

Flow doesn’t come from pushing harder.
It comes from pausing long enough to choose your direction.

Beginnings are magical.

Can you remember a time when you were a beginner?

I recently attended a friend’s menu tasting for a new food truck concept they’re launching. The tasting was set up for guests to try each item and share feedback. Some dishes were home runs others needed a bit more tweaking.

Beginnings can be exciting and messy all at once.

The next day, I kept thinking about how magical it is to be in that stage experimenting, refining, and creating something new. But beginnings can also feel uncomfortable. There’s uncertainty, vulnerability, and moments when you might feel like giving up.

That’s where mindfulness comes in.

Mindfulness helps you stay grounded in the present moment to enjoy where you are right now in your journey instead of getting caught in your mind’s habit of jumping to the past (“what went wrong”) or the future (“what if this fails”).

We all experience new beginnings whether it’s your team launching a new project, a colleague stepping into a leadership role, or your company going through change.

Practicing mindfulness helps teams handle these moments with greater focus, clarity, and confidence. It allows employees to stay centered during change, navigate the unknown with more ease, and embrace the growth that comes with starting fresh.

From logistics to selecting speakers everything came together this past Thursday!

This is my favorite part!!

Being a speaker I get to attend different events and explore new cities and my favorite part is meeting new people, sparking engaging conversations, and creating memories with a new group of humans.

I’m still riding the high from the amazing people that were in the room at DisruptHR Reno last Thursday!

Leaning into the calling of a being a speaker has been such an amazing ride.

I know I wouldn’t be here without the mindfulness practices and strategies that I share in my message on stage.

Intentional pauses, breathwork in grocery store lines, gratitudes while brushing my teeth, mental decluttering with journal entries, and the list goes on.

It might not seem like a few minutes of meditation could lead to big changes like starting a new business in the last 4 years, launching a journal two years ago, or joining not one but two boards in a single year (this year) but that’s exactly what happens when you step back from the outside world and tune into your inner world.

The Power is in Your Pause!

If you haven’t taken a pause yet today let this be your reminder to put the phone down and check in with yourself.

I’m so excited to reconnect with this group. I had the pleasure of atrending last month’s luncheon and met some great people.
