Original Interpretation: Your Spiritual Path
A woman, cloaked in black, stands defensively at the threshold of a sacred temple. There are those that wish to enter, forcefully if necessary, but they cannot pass. She guards the secrets beyond the doorway and stands firm. She is not scared. She is poised, confident, and ready.
When we are on a spiritual path, not everything is fun, enlightening, or easy. There are real-world struggles we must contend with day after day. Some are small annoyances, and others can be life-altering. The majority of challenges fall somewhere in between and require our direct intervention. These obstacles require a level of adult responsibility and, oftentimes, courage to face conflicts we would rather not face. To put it into perspective, if we were all enlightened and beaming solid light energy with a constant state of heightened awareness and bliss, there would be no lessons to learn. The decisions we make during the worst of times determine our character and wisdom. Being on the path means facing the challenges down with an internal strength that is evolving.
Bullies for instance, smell weakness like predators in the jungle. Because of their own deep insecurities, they hide behind a mask of manipulation, lest they have to confront themselves. Being vulnerable is their greatest fear, and they overcompensate for this by steamrolling over others. They get away with this because most normal people want to avoid conflict and confrontation. They are counting on your passivity to feed their ego. We're not here for that.
A spiritual warrior protects their energy and does not allow these lower emotion-based manifestations to sidetrack them. When you are feeling under attack or being manipulated, it is our duty to call it out when we see it. They are struggling with their own karma and issues, but we are not going to enable them or their ego. Remember, as seekers, we are here for inspiration and to find the highest good in any situation. If you find yourself in a place where you have to defend yourself (non-physically), the discomfort you're feeling is part of the lesson you need to learn - which is - to face conflict and difficult people courageously and with wisdom.
Just remember: no one can take advantage of you without your permission.
