TMJ stands for Temporomandibular Joint — it’s the joint that connects your jawbone to your skull, right in front of your ears.
When TMJ tension is reduced, it can:
• Decrease jaw pain and stiffness, making chewing and talking more comfortable
• Reduce headaches and facial pain, especially tension-type headaches
• Ease neck and shoulder tension, since jaw muscles often overwork nearby muscles
• Improve jaw movement, reducing clicking, locking, or limited opening
• Lower stress-related clenching or grinding, which can overload the joint
Because the TMJ is closely linked to posture and the cervical spine, treating it often helps patients feel relief beyond just the jaw😁
