Are all the new fertility and health tracking devices actually helping… or just making us more anxious? 📊🧠
Dr. Kaye from The Fertility Center of Las Vegas was listening to a podcast about continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and started thinking about how many tools are now available to track everything — ovulation, sleep, hormones, temperature, glucose, and more.
For many of our patients who are type A, high-achieving, and data-driven, these devices can seem perfect. But they’re also heavily marketed to people who are already under stress and willing to spend a lot to feel “in control.”
- In this video, Dr. K shares why:
- Not every tracker is necessary for fertility
- More numbers don’t always mean better outcomes
- These tools often add cost and anxiety on top of an already emotional journey
- Especially around the holidays, it may be healthier to focus on rest, time with family, and mental wellbeing instead of constant data
In infertility care, we do rely on important medical numbers that truly guide treatment. But it’s okay to step back from extra tracking that isn’t serving you.
💬 What do you think — have tracking apps and devices helped you, or made things feel heavier?
