Ending the Celebration of Black History Month!

O’Dell Owens is a groundbreaking Black American pioneer in reproductive medicine and IVF. In 1988, he helped make history by achieving Cincinnati’s first successful in vitro fertilization pregnancy from a frozen embryo—a major advancement that helped shape modern fertility treatment. His work expanded possibilities for patients facing infertility and paved the way for future innovations in assisted reproductive technology.

Honoring Black History Month and the legacy of Dr. O’Dell Owens, whose contributions continue to impact families today. ✨

Surrogacy vs. Gestational Carrier — terms often used interchangeably, but with important medical and legal differences.
At Red Rock Fertility Center, we prioritize gestational carriers and, when appropriate, egg donation to help reduce legal complications and give intended parents peace of mind. ✨

Celebrating Black History Month! Part 1️⃣

Octavia Dickens (1909–2001) was a pioneering African American physician who broke barriers in women’s health care. She was the first Black woman board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and later chaired the OB-GYN department at Mercy Douglass Hospital in Philadelphia. Committed to underserved communities, she expanded access to Pap smear screenings, created teen health education programs, and advanced cervical cancer prevention. As associate dean for minority affairs at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, she significantly increased minority student enrollment.

About Us

As the Founder and Practice Director of Red Rock Fertility Center, Dr. Eva Littman has successfully guided the center to produce many successful pregnancies. Dr. Littman also specializes in challenging cases where the patient has less than a five percent chance of pregnancy and helps them welcome new lives into their families.

Dr. Littman offers an outstanding level of empathy and a broader amount of compassion for her patients given that she has personally undergone some of the procedures involved with fertility treatment. Dr. Littman has three children of her own and she understands the desires of her patients to conceive.

She has also contributed to worldwide knowledge of specific infertility problems by publishing numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presenting at international meetings and local conferences. She also helps mentor future OB/GYN residents by serving as a Volunteer Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Dr. Littman completed her medical training at some of the best medical centers and universities in the world. Below is a brief synopsis of her education and training.
