We recently celebrated dozens of our coworkers for their years of service and caring at our hospital! The 200+ recipients worked anywhere from 5 to 45 years at Summerlin Hospital or time at another hospital within our health system. Thank you for your steadfast commitment to caring for our patients, their families and one another!

We are delighted to announce that Crystal Gray has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Summerlin Hospital! Crystal brings 23 years of clinical nursing experience and over 12 years of nursing leadership experience to this role. She has a proven track record of driving operational excellence and improvements in quality.

Crystal joined UHS in 2019 as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer of Summerlin Hospital. During this period, she has overseen the medical-surgical units, critical care, emergency department, house supervision and float pool. During her tenure, Crystal has been an integral part of ensuring several successful Joint Commission surveys, reducing length of stay and opening a free-standing emergency department. She has also supported a successful Nurse Apprentice Program and assisted with building a robust clinical ladder program.

Prior to joining UHS, Crystal worked for the University of Michigan Health System and Beaumont Health in Dearborn, MI, both in nursing leadership roles. She earned a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Eastern Michigan University and her Associate of Science in Nursing from Henry Ford College. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Executive Nurse Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno, with an expected completion date of May 2026.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our third annual Heart Smart Showcase!
Our visitors and exhibitors made the day such a success. Guests explored the latest in cardiac technology, learned hands‑only CPR and how to use an AED, enjoyed a delicious heart‑healthy cooking demo, and attended educational sessions with Dr. Adrian Mercado and dietitian Kristina Labouff.

We also loved having representatives from our cardiac rehab team, the ER at South Summerlin, our cath lab, cardiovascular care unit, and cardiovascular & thoracic surgery office on hand to chat with attendees.

What an incredible event — thank you for celebrating Heart Month with us!

Our Story

As Summerlin and the surrounding communities to grow, so does Summerlin Hospital. The 485-bed hospital recently opened a new patient care dedicated to adult oncology care, expanded its pediatric unit to the sixth floor and renovated its Level II neonatal intensive care and maternal triage units.
