Recently, the leadership of The Valley Health System had a chance to connect with Joe Lombardo for Governor, offering the opportunity to discuss The Valley Health System’s role in providing high-quality health care access throughout Southern Nevada, our commitment to patient safety and investing in our health care workforce through graduate medical education for physicians and pharmacists, serving as locations for clinical rotations for college students, and offering internal programs like Clinical Ladders for registered nurses and tuition reimbursement for employees.

Celebrating an incredible milestone! Celebrating Ruth Ellis' 80th birthday and what a remarkable legacy she continues to build at Valley Hospital! Ruth has dedicated more than half her life to Valley Hospital; next year, she will be celebrating an inspirational 50 years of service.

Her commitment to patient care and excellence has touched countless lives across our hospital and community. Please join us in wishing Ruth a very Happy 80th birthday
and thank her for the impact she has made on our patients, staff and hospital family.

Claudia, Valley Hospital ICU nurse, and her daughter Vanessa, C.N.A., are experiencing something pretty special. Working side by side has allowed them to see each other in a different light. Creating a space where they have become more united and understanding of each other. Different generations, one purpose, one team!

🐾 Sassy is a 7-year-old English Bulldog

What’s her claim to fame?
🐕‍🦺 She loves playing so hard that she falls asleep with her ball in her mouth. She’s the mama bear of the crew and keeps her other English Bulldog siblings in check.

Happy Certified Nurses Day! On this day, we asked what inspired some of our directors to join the healthcare field.
Jennifer, Director of Quality Management and Quality Assurance, says, “My passion for people, serving the community, along with a strong passion for health literacy that was impacted by personal experience of someone receiving the wrong diagnosis.”

Ashley, Director of Surgical Services, shared, “I decided to go into healthcare to make a profound impact on my patients' and family's lives.”

Tiffany, Director of Cardiovascular Services and IR Department, says, “Growing up in a family that was strongly guided by faith and serving others, I learned early that small acts of kindness can have a big impact. When I was about 16 years old, a "Rescue 911" episode struck a deep chord in me and helped me clarify that nursing was going to be my career path. I wanted to become a trauma nurse so I could directly save lives and support people in their time of need. I enrolled in nursing school right after high school and have spent the last 31 years in the profession. I feel like nursing was more like a calling; a calling to care for others with empathy and skill.”
