Sometimes your brain may mislead to you by catastrophizing.

Your brain tells you that the absolute worst-case scenario will happen, no matter how unlikely it is. For example, if you make a small mistake at work, you might think it will lead to losing your job or ruining your career.

Recognizing these thought patterns as lies is the first step to regaining control. When you identify that your brain is catastrophizing, you can begin to separate the thought from reality.
