🧡 Introducing Kelsey, our November Advocate of the Month! 🧡

🪴Kelsey is in her MSW foundation year with a focus on trauma-informed care! She joined the Care Advocate team this semester to support students while gaining experience for her future work with victims in legal settings or children in therapeutic settings.

🌟“Kelsey has gone above and beyond this semester, taking her advocacy skills out into the community by starting a support group on campus for fellow students who are also parents. In addition to her excellent, detail-driven client service work here at the Care Center, we are so proud of Kelsey for taking the time to create a safe space for her peers! Our center wouldn’t be the same without her presence!” - April Weeks (Care Advocate Coordinator)

❤️ Honoring and Reflecting ❤️ Today marks two years since the tragic event that took place on our campus. We pause to remember the lives lost, recognize the courage of survivors, and reflect on the strength our UNLV community has shown through healing and care.

❤ As we continue moving forward together, we want to remind everyone that support is always available: 📞 To connect with UNLV Student Counseling and Psychological Services - CAPS : 702-895-3627

🧡 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

This year’s 16 Days of Activism campaign theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls,” calls on governments, tech companies, donors, and individuals to create safer online spaces. This campaign is part of the UNiTE initiative, hosted by , which works globally to end gender-based violence and support victim-survivors.

At the Care Center, we work year-round to support victim-survivors, raise awareness, and provide resources. ☎️ Connect with us through our Care Line at 702.895.0602 for immediate support.

Together, we can create a world where everyone is safe and supported.

For , we’re honoring native histories, cultures, and ongoing resilience while bringing attention to the rates of power-based violence impacting native communities. Victim-survivors often face service gaps, cultural stigma, and barriers rooted in colonial systems. 🧡

This month and beyond, we’re uplifting Native voices, promoting culturally grounding resources like , and advocating for safer, supportive pathways for victim-survivors.

Introducing McKenzie, our October Advocate of the Month! 🌟

A sophomore majoring in Political Science, McKenzie dreams of becoming an attorney to help families navigate the legal system. She’s a bold, unapologetic activist and has been an incredible part of the Care Center since the start of Fall 2025.

💜 “McKenzie has continually impressed Care Center staff members with her confident and prepared advocacy style. She comes in each week ready to take on whatever the day has in store for her and happily collaborates with the team on ways to improve practices and expand resources. We are so happy to have Mckenzie as one of our amazing Care Advocates this year!” - April Weeks (Care Advocate Coordinator) 🌵
