"I went to see Dr. Elkanich in October/ November of 2021. The pain management Dr. I went to go see did and MRI of my neck and found that my spinal cord was being strangulated by the vertebrae in my neck. I was referred to Dr Elkanich for surgery. Dr. Elkanich had a great bed side manner and answered all of my questions. He was very informative and took time to explain the surgery to me and what all it would entail. He made me feel at ease and I felt like I was in good hands.
February of 2021 I had a Cervical neck fusion C-3–C-7. I am not going to say it was not painful, because it was extremely painful, but I did know what to expect after the surgery. "I was in an automobile accident not long ago. It caused my hip to go into the center console, re-igniting the hip pain I had worked through years ago. I saw Dr. Kirk Mendez this time, not realizing it was the same medical practice I visited many years ago. Long story short. Dr. Mendez sat with me, and "we" discussed the situation. He suggested a cortisone injection might be helpful rather than immediately jumping to the conclusion of his colleague's hip surgery years ago. He might have given me a minute or two longer than the other doctor years ago. The difference was that Dr. Mendez listened and formulated his conclusion not solely on the Xray's he saw but also on me as a person.

If all this makes me a difficult person to please, then I'm guilty as charged. On the other hand, a doctor who listens to his patients and "then" formulates a plan of action is what everyone should and must expect. "I’m a Senior Softball player with the usual knee and rotator cuff issues. Dr. Manning was referred to me by another ball player 3 years ago (shortly after I retired and moved to Las Vegas).

Dr. Manning is an outstanding Orthopedic!! He has fixed me on multiple occasions and kept me playing softball at a high level. He has years of experience and can quickly diagnose, identify and resolve my joint pain.

A word to the wise, if you’re looking for a doctor who holds your hand, talks a lot and makes you feel good psychologically/emotionally, Dr. Manning is not the Orthopedic for you. If you want your joint issues fixed by a highly qualified, intelligent and experienced expert, definitely make an appointment with Dr. Manning!
