Sometimes you can be so focused on a goal that you don’t realize you’re using it as a crutch to avoid pain..

Pain can be a powerful motivator, but it can also force you to ignore really unhealthy habits you’ve employed in your arsenal to sustain the status quo.

2023 gutted me from the inside out.

It allowed me to see a void staring back at me in the mirror.

I was disappointed in myself for allowing so many people to walk over me, in a last ditch effort to avoid conflict, and maintain their validation.

My business was doing record breaking six figure months, but I was working nonstop, and was burnt out on both ends.

My family life was entirely unbalanced, and I was seemingly failing as a wife, a friend, and family member.

Many of my relationships crumbled and withered away when I attempted to assert boundaries…leaving me to question my placements of refuge.

After much self reflection, I chose to really go back to my roots and pray with feverish intention.

I isolated myself and truly removed myself from everything that I thought made me feel superior.

I purged myself of all the things that fed my ego..

An ego death can humble you in ways that you never knew you needed.

When everything seems to be falling apart around you, it is a canon event that is required to grow.

Don’t be angry, spiteful, or disconnected..be grateful for the lesson in humility.

You are flawed, you will make mistakes, you will accept less than you deserve at times, but your core values will always shine true.

When all else fails pray…and then choose to love them anyway.

The best way to reap your blessings is not in what you do, but how you react to stimuli.

If you are kind remain kind…circumstances should not change the core of who you are.

Simply pray for their eventual growth and focus on your own journey to become the best being you can be.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow from my mistakes, and really focus on being centered, loving, and kind.

I was raised in a dark place so I know what it feels like to be utterly alone.

If I love you…you will feel it in your bones..

Breathe and slow down…work will be there when you return…

MY MINI ME

I was running around crazy yesterday and decided not do a long drawn out birthday post.

I wanted to take my time and give thanks to this being.

Shannon….you have been such a great addition to my life over the past year.

You told me your story, shared with me your trials, and expressed how so many people have let you down.

In many ways we are alike…we are survivors and many people have counted us out, or not believed in our ability to see blessings.

You are many things, but here are a few of your characteristics that mean the world to me.

“Your unyielding loyalty and team player attitude”.

“Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and put in the work”.

“When we were stretched thin during build out you didn’t complain, and instead asked how you could add more value”.

“You’re such a hard a$$ on the outside, but I love the cream puff that you hide on the inside”.

You aren’t perfect but you try hard to show your fealty and it does not go by unnoticed.

Cancers just get other Cancers….and you match my high vibrating energy.

PIVOT & SHIFT

Let me spare you some heartache.

Stop assuming people do not operate deeply from ego or pride.

You must accept people for where they are, and not for who you want them to be.

Learn to really “listen” when people are speaking.

“Observe” how they treat you and how it makes you feel.

Take inventory of the support they offer and whether it mirrors your own.

Learn to really see the stark differences in loyalty and or love languages.

When all is said and done examine whether this relationship can weather the storm, or if it’s too unbalanced to continue.

Balance is necessary in order for any type of relationship to thrive.

Do not strive for perfection, instead strive for a symbiotic mutualism.

There are three different types of symbiotic relationships: mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism.

Mutualism: both partners benefit.

Commensalism: only one species benefits while the other is neither helped nor harmed.

Parasitism: One organism (the parasite) gains, while the other (the host) suffers.

Learn which of the 3 relationships you have with friends and significant others.

Only then can you sleep peacefully knowing you have balance.

The moment you learn peace you’ll be less likely to yearn for war.
