Hello everyone...
I see that many people are posting and reviewing our page. I appreciate everyone and thank you for the prayers, love, and positive energy you sent our way. I thought that I had posted something before but I am not seeing it. Sadly, my husband and partner for 32 years, John Cooper Calderon, lost his battle with appendiceal cancer on July 4, 2019. He fought hard and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. I was holding his hand when he left this world and he is now in peace and is no longer in pain. I wish you all the best and continue to learn from the past, stop trying to control the future and remain in the present or stay mindful. Until we meet again, I thank you so much!

Hello everyone,
Thank you all for allowing us to help you through some rough patches in your lives. As most of you know my husband, John Cooper Calderon ,has been diagnosed with stage IV cancer. He had a 16 hour surgery on March 30th and needs help to recover. His surgeon told us that he is doing better than expected but his recovery time will still be 6 months to 1 year. There are many other changes to his body that I wouldn't want to post but we are getting by with your help and your donations to his GOFUNDME account. Unfortunately, we are closing Altura Counseling and Wellness LLC so that we can move to be closer to family and cancer specialists. We sold our house the first day on the market and will be moving back to Texas soon. The Empowerment Centre LLC has taken over the office and any patients that need help, the address and phone number are the same...702-675-3820. I would not turn the agency over to just anyone that I did not trust so give them a call and they will be glad to help you. We will both miss you but John's health has to come first. We welcome your positive thoughts and energy as he continues to fight this horrible disease. I never say goodbye. I always say "see you soon". Again. thank you for allowing and trusting us enough to share some of your dark past and your positive present and being mindful. Take care and stay in touch. Send me a Facebook request and I will accept it. Talk to you soon!

Hello everyone,
I want to thank you all for your support during this difficult time. Most of you are aware of my husband, John Cooper Calderon, and his battle with appendix cancer. This type of cancer is 1 out of 1,000,000 and is usually only discovered during an autopsy. We are thankful that the cancer was found even though it was discovered at stage 4. John had a 16 hour surgery at UC San Diego on March 30th and is currently recovering after spending a month in the hospital. Due to his health issues, I have not been in the office but plan to return soon with a limited schedule. Please continue to pray or send positive thoughts and energy our way.

As many of you know, John has been diagnosed with a rare cancer in his appendix that is at stage 4. He was told that this type of cancer is only diagnosed once for every 1,000,000 people diagnosed with cancer and the average life expectancy is usually only a few months. He successfully completed...

Good morning everyone,
I know that we haven't posted in a while but a great many things have been going on. As most of you know, my partner in business and life was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer that metastisized on February 22nd of this year and he immediately started treatment. As of May 22nd, we have been told that he is in remission. He is doing well but still has to complete the 12 rounds of IV chemotherapy and then a chemotherapy pill for a good while. We appreciate your patients and support through this difficult time and understanding that we may be a little slower at responding to phone calls and appointment scheduling. John has 3 more Chemotherapy treatments and we hope that he stays in remission forever. Again, thank you for all of your positive thoughts and energy. You will never know how much it means to the both of us! Watch for new posts coming soon and thank you!

If we can be of any assistance in making the transition from 2016 to 2017 any easier, please don't hesitate to contact us at 702-675-3850 or by email at altura@alturacounseling.com! Remember that the only limits you have in life are the ones that you place on yourself! Cheers to 2017!
