Did they do measurements?

If the answer is no, then you need a new provider. Your injector shouldn’t be guessing or eyeballing where volume and structure is needed. To truly balance a face, you have to measure in order to properly inject and to also ensure an ideal result that is going to be natural, undetectable, and will leave you truly symmetrically balanced.

One of the biggest concerns we hear about masseter Botox:

“Will this make my jowls worse?” Short answer: not when it’s done correctly and on the right candidate.

Masseter Botox works by relaxing an overactive jaw muscle. In patients whose lower face heaviness is driven by muscle bulk or chronic clenching, reducing that muscle can actually improve facial balance and soften the jawline.

Where issues can arise is when masseter Botox is:
• done on the wrong candidate
• over-dosed
• placed without considering skin laxity, fat distribution, or overall facial structure

If someone already has significant skin laxity or early jowling from tissue descent (not muscle bulk), weakening the masseter alone can make that laxity more noticeable. That’s why masseter Botox should never be treated in isolation.

A proper assessment looks at:
– muscle vs. skin vs. fat
– lower face support
– whether additional treatments (skin tightening, collagen stimulation, or structural support) are needed

Masseter Botox isn’t a one size fits all fix.

It’s a strategic treatment that works best when used intentionally, and sometimes in combination with other modalities.

While they can overlap in benefits like texture and overall refinement, they work on different layers of the skin and serve different purposes on a persons skin.

Microneedling focuses on stimulating collagen from within, strengthening the skin over time and improving concerns like texture, pores, fine lines, and scarring. Cool Peel CO2, on the other hand, targets the surface of the skin, refining texture, smoothing fine lines, and addressing sun damage with minimal downtime.

Different tools create different results, which is why the best outcomes come from choosing the right treatment for your skin, not simply following trends. This is where a customized treatment plan makes all the difference.

I’m just saying…it’s a choice

We seriously have to stop price shopping! Just because the Botox is cheap, does not mean it is the same or that your results will turn out the same.

The first concern is that it is truly scary how many places charge for and inject fraudulent product. Product that was not made by the makers of Botox or Dysport, and product that could potentially lead to horrific outcomes.

The second concern is that your provider truly does matter. Botox seems simple, but to inject it requires a deep, thorough understanding of facial anatomy. If product is injected into the wrong areas, you could be dealing with dropped brows, dropped smiles, and other adverse affects. This is why your provider is so, so important.

Yeah, they sell sushi at the gas station, but just because its cheap, doesn’t mean it’s good. And honestly, there’s probably a lot of reasons as to why it’s so cheap and that should scare you.
