✨ This week was pure magic. ✨

My trainee completed her final performance on the Reformer. her last teaching performance on the Mat will be in few weeks. When we walked into the studio, we were surprised with balloons and a note from my other trainee… and yes, we both cried. Tears of joy, excitement, and hearts overflowing with love. 💖

Hodaya’s final performance was absolutely phenomenal — powerful, inspiring, and deeply moving. She began this journey carrying a serious childhood injury, never imagining how this practice could transform her body, her mind, and her entire life.

Watching Hodaya perform Reformer Level III was such a strong reminder of why we do this work. She didn’t just perform Level III - she understood it, lived it, breathed it. She embodied the true concept and philosophy of Pilates.

🌿 Why Joseph Pilates Invented His Practice

Joseph Pilates created his method—originally called Contrology—because he believed modern life was weakening people’s bodies and minds.
He wanted a system that would:

1️⃣ Transform his own sick childhood body

He grew up suffering from asthma, rickets, and rheumatic fever.
He became determined to rebuild his body through movement, breath, and discipline.

2️⃣ Help people build balanced, healthy bodies

Pilates noticed that many people were either stiff or weak.
His method was designed to create uniform development—strength, flexibility, and control in equal measure.

3️⃣ Rehabilitate injured soldiers in WWI

While interned in England during the war, he trained other detainees using springs and controlled movement to rebuild their strength.
This experience shaped his equipment-based Pilates work (Reformer, Cadillac, etc.).

4️⃣ Protect people from the effects of modern life

Even in the early 1900s, he believed people sat too much, breathed poorly, and moved inefficiently.
His method aimed to restore natural, powerful, graceful movement.

5️⃣ Improve overall well-being

With Deep Gratitude This Thanksgiving 🤍
Thanksgiving reminds me how beautifully complex the human experience is how our stories shape us, challenge us, and guide us back home to ourselves.

Many of you know parts of my journey:
I was born with two noses the first documented case in the Western world. My childhood was shaped by surgeries and professors studying my case… but also by a deep sense that my path was meant to be different.

In my twenties everything shifted.
A moment in India a baba looking at me and asking, “Why do you touch your nose?” opened the door to years of searching, questioning, healing, and rebuilding trust.

But the full acceptance didn’t come until about five years ago, when a new client shared her own childhood trauma with me. She said something that cracked me open:

“It doesn’t really matter what happened. What matters is the effect it had and how we heal it.”

We both cried. Something released in both of us.
My heart softened. My body settled.
And for the first time, I felt full acceptance a true coming home.

Teaching movement is my path, my purpose, my medicine.
Pilates is my language of healing.

Every session we do together is more than movement it is an energy exchange.
You bring your story, your heart, your truth.
And I bring mine.

You heal, I heal.
You grow, I grow.
We evolve together.

So this Thanksgiving, from the deepest place in my heart, I want to say: Thank you. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for opening your heart and letting me be part of your journey. Thank you for being exactly who you are. We are doing the work — together. And it is the greatest honor of my life.
