From prevention and education to data-driven strategies and community collaboration, they’re putting in the work to create healthier, safer neighborhoods across Southern Nevada. 💙

Join us in congratulating our wonderful Program Manager, Sam, on passing her PhD competency exams! 🎉👏 These exams bring her one step closer to completing her doctoral program. Sam recently celebrated this well-deserved achievement with some ice cream 😋🍨

Next month, Sam will take on another major milestone in her doctoral journey: presenting and defending her official research proposal, which lays out the studies she’ll conduct for her PhD.

Sam’s dissertation, “Characterizing Heavy Metal Exposure in the Philippines through a One Health Lens,” connects her to her culture 🇵🇭 and reminds us that our health and environment are deeply connected 🌿

We are so proud of her and so excited to see her continue making an impact in the field of public health 🌎✨
