Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) programs were forced to shut down during COVID-19. Five years later, 56 programs are still closed and those that have reopened are struggling to stay open due to lack of resources and staff.

What is adult day health care? Adult day health care (ADHC) is a community-based long-term care program that provides comprehensive health care services in a congregate day setting. Registrant needs are assessed and met through an individualized plan of care that is developed and implemented by an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals, including the registrant's personal community physician.
