The 49-year-old actress, known for her roles in ‘Married with Children’, ‘Anchorman’, and ‘Dead to Me’, announced on Twitter today that she was diagnosed with MS a few months ago. “It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going.”

Actress Christina Applegate has announced that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis affects the central nervous system and is considered an autoimmune disease.

David Lander, best known for his role as Squiggy on ‘Laverne and Shirley,’ died from complications of his MS a few days ago. We got the chance to meet David when he was the guest speaker at the WAMS Luncheon in 2012. We remember him being funny and gracious, but we also remember that he hid his MS for 15 years because of the discrimination he knew he would face, especially from Hollywood execs who would see his MS as a “liability” and pass him over for roles. He understood this is an issue many people with MS - not just those on camera - face in the workplace and other aspects of life. We are thankful for public figures and celebrities like David for finding the courage to speak out about having MS in the hopes of spreading awareness and ending discrimination. And if you want a good laugh, pick up a copy of David’s book “Fall Down, Laughing: How Squiggy Caught Multiple Sclerosis and Didn’t Tell Nobody.”

The health and welfare of our patients is our utmost concern. For the next few weeks, at least, we have adopted the following policies:

1. We are not allowing families or visitors to accompany patients unless needed for assistance.

2. If you feel you may be ill in any way, especially with a respiratory illness (sneezing, coughing, fever, etc.), STAY HOME. Reschedule your appointment for when the illness has resolved.

3. We are cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces four times daily and in 15 minute intervals if they are touched.

4. We will be wearing masks and gloves *and so will all patients*.

5. We do NOT use drugs that suppress the immune system for MS control. But we do not wish any greater exposure to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) *OR* the seasonal flu if possible.

Being here in a safe environment continues to be our top priority.
