Good morning 🌞

So, most of you.who have visited us know that I love plants.

You also know about "THE" plant. Rapunzel, a big, beautiful lady who has been with me for 15+ years.

Let's face it- her trailing vines have grown to an unbelievable length -feet upon feet of luscious vines and leaves.

I definitely cannot bear to just trim her up so I decided that this is going to be the year that she spreads her glory far and wide.

I am beginning the process of propogating her.

My beautiful SIL and brother gifted me a propogation station for Christmas and I got the first batch going.

15 new plants.

But here is the fun part- I am going to keep count and see how many new plants Rapunzel can produce from her trailing locks over the course of this year. And then we will spread the 💕

Forgive her unkept appearance here, she was moved and thus missed so she hasn't fully settled in. 😂

I had a call this evening from a woman who was interested in scheduling a Couple's Massage for next week.

Here's the thing, though....we are booked. She and her husband are only traveling through Latrobe on that day.

I told her that we were booked that day but then I did something that shocked her.

I asked her if I could text her a few recommendations of other places that offer Couple's Massage, places where I know and like the therapists, places where I know she will have a great experience.

Why would I do that? Years ago, I decided that I would not lead my practice from a place of scarcity and fear. I decided to be client-centered. I have always had this policy and always done this and always will!

Creating space and delightful smells for our guests this beautiful Saturday morning with a hand crafted summer pot. Cloves, cinnamon, orange, peppercorn, and just a sprinkle of roses.

I love smelling it but I also 💕 to watch it gentle simmer. It reminds ME to take a slow breath, relax and slow down.

This is what it looks like when January rolls around and it is time for new sheets!

We do a ton of laundry as massage therapists and our sheets take a beating with exposure to the products we use + the frequent washing.

It can be hard (really) to part with beloved sheets because believe it or not, sheets influence the experience.

We have slowly started introducing some new sheets and finally, we are updating a large batch!

Our product bottles, too, are getting replaced.

It is all about the details and the experience!

I keep seeing signs advertising that you can pay someone to come out and hang up your Christmas lights.

Okay, that sounds good but here is what I don't get.

Where are all the signs offering for someone to come out and 'fluff" the branches on your artificial Christmas 🎁🎄 tree?

You have to know what I am talking about. It comes out of the box and literally looks like it was someone's mission in life to press the branches tightly together.

You fluff this branch and now that one needs it. Repeat 4,786 times until you finally decide to just go buy a few more ornaments to cover the unsightly holes.

Times are tough, folks! But business ideas abound! By this time next year, you could be rolling in the 🤑💰 straightening branches on 🎄.

Today I decided to try something new. I am making limoncello!

I am prepping a big batch then will infuse it THEN the magic happens. I am going to divide it and make 5 different bottles that are herbal infused.

Tell me your best suggestions for infusion:

Here are some of my ideas.

Hibiscus
Rosemary
Thyme
Lavender
?

What are my best options or do you have a better option?

PS- I took the "naked" lemons, blended them until they became a puree then let that simmer with sugar and a bit of water. Until creamy smooth. I think I am going to freeze it into cubes to add to drinks. 😋

I was planning to make an elderberry syrup BUT after my recent cranberry Oxymel creation, I thought why not make an Elderberry Oxymel?

If you have done both or either or, the benefits to the Oxymel would definitely be longer shelf life (no refrigeration necessary) and an Oxymel will not only preserve more nutrients (since it isn't heated) but it will also be more potent.

The benefit of doing a syrup is that it is ready faster- same day, you don't wait weeks for infusion plus it tends to be a little sweeter which may be nice for kids or finicky husbands 😛

The Oxymel was definitely quicker to prep. I put the kids to bed and in less than 10 minutes, this beautiful Oxymel was ready for the shelf.

I decided to go crazy with my spices so I ended up adding rosehips .Ginger root. A cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and hibiscus flowers. I also used a darker, fall honey, still raw and local.

I am relaxing between massages and made a cup of tea: I added a dried orange slice, fresh cranberries, and some delicious, sticky, raw local honey.

Perfect for a cold December day in December!

Cranberries and oranges always make me think of Christmas 🎄
