During a recent visit to St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospital, Social Service Coordinators from Catholic Housing Management learned more about the facility’s specialized services and care capabilities through an informational session and tour.

The meeting also established a collaboration to bring educational in-services directly to housing properties, helping connect residents with important health and wellness information.

St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation Hospital provides specialized inpatient rehabilitation for individuals recovering from acute or chronic conditions that may cause temporary or permanent disability.

Our comprehensive approach combines medical care, physician supervision, 24/7 nursing care, and physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies, the hospital helps patients rebuild the functional, physical, cognitive, and behavioral skills needed to live as independently as possible.

Care is especially suited for recovery from stroke, spinal cord injury, head or brain injury, amputation, orthopedic conditions, neurologic conditions, and vestibular disorders.

Providing meaningful social enrichment for our seniors is a top priority at Catholic Heath Services’ hospitals, nursing centers, and assisted living facilities.

St. Anne’s Nursing Center, Residence and Rehabilitation Hospital, in the South Miami area, recently hosted its ALF vs. SNF Senior Olympics, bringing residents together for three days of fun, teamwork, and spirited competition.

Representing Assisted Living, the Macaws faced off against Skilled Nursing’s Los Tigres de Long-Term Care in a memorable event that began with an opening ceremony and continued through eight exciting competitions. Residents showcased their enthusiasm and determination in Basketball, Target Shooting, the ADL Challenge, Frisbee Golf, Volleyball, Co****le Toss, Table Tennis, and Wheelchair Racing.

The energy throughout the event was incredible, as residents cheered one another on and embraced the joy of friendly competition. While Los Tigres de Long-Term Care earned the title of overall champions this year, the true victory was the laughter, camaraderie, and community spirit shared by everyone involved.

From start to finish, the 2026 Senior Olympics was a joyful celebration of active living, meaningful engagement, and the vibrant resident spirit that defines our healthcare facilities.

During Social Workers’ Week, we celebrated the compassionate professionals who serve as lifelines for our patients, residents, and families. Their work is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and a deep commitment to walking alongside others through some of life’s most challenging moments.

Our amazing Community Engagement team is always out in the community, helping educate individuals and families about all that Catholic Health Services offers, including skilled nursing, medical rehabilitation, home health services, assisted living, palliative care, hospice, and so much more.

We were honored to recently participate in the City of Parkland’s Senior Health & Lifestyle Expo, where our team connected with residents and shared information about the wide range of services available to support seniors and their loved ones. Catholic Health Services serves people of all faiths across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Sharlita Ramirez from Catholic Cemeteries and Laura Sullivan from Catholic Health Services enjoyed meeting community members and providing information about Catholic Home Health Care, Catholic Hospice, St. John’s Nursing Center, St. Anthony’s Rehabilitation Hospital, and Catholic Cemeteries, all of which are affiliated with Catholic Health Services.

At Catholic Health Services, our food service team plays a vital role in the care we provide every day. Bringing food services in house, we strengthened our ability to deliver the highest quality meals and better meet the unique dietary needs of our patients and residents.
