Pitocin is one of the top reasons babies go into distress during labor.

Not because your body failed.
Not because your baby couldn’t “handle labor.”
But because synthetic contractions are harder, longer, and closer together than nature ever intended.

When a uterus is forced to contract without adequate rest, the placenta doesn’t get time to refill with oxygen-rich blood.

Baby gets less oxygen.
Baby’s heart rate drops.
Cue the “emergency.”

And here’s the kicker: the #1 medical excuse for a C-section is “fetal distress.”

So the drug they gave you to “help” your labor?

Often becomes the very reason surgery is suddenly “necessary.”

Your body wasn’t broken.
Your baby wasn’t behaving badly.

Pitocin is an amazing tool when used ethically and with consent.

But as of now in the U.S. this is one of the most abused drugs in obstetrics.

The other day I walked into my client’s 4th C-section. Someone asked me, “Why would you need a doula for a C-section?” This is why:

As I stood by her side, I noticed her blood pressure was dangerously low. She was sweating, restless, and complaining of upper stomach pain. The nurse brushed it off—I didn’t.

I demanded the OR doctor come back. My client was hemorrhaging internally.

They rushed her into emergency surgery for a hysterectomy. She was intubated and sedated for 4 hours. I waited. I checked on her baby in the NICU. I came back the next morning to be by her side when she woke up.

She cried. I held her hand. I explained what happened. I showed her pictures of her baby. I stayed with her and her son all morning.

She lost all of her blood that night. Minutes later, and she may not have made it.

There was no negligence—just no one watching closely enough.

This is why doulas matter. Even during surgery. Even with doctors and nurses present. We advocate when you can’t. We notice what others miss. We hold space in moments that could change everything.

Get a doula. It could save your life.

It is an honor and a true joy to support mothers through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Witnessing the moment a baby takes its first breath—the beautiful transition from the womb into the world—is nothing short of magical. Every birth is a reminder of the strength of women and the sacredness of new life. I’m grateful to be part of this journey.

🌟 **Exciting News!** 🌟

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I now accept **Medicaid** for my doula services! 🎉 This is a huge step for me because I believe every woman deserves personalized, compassionate care—especially during such an important time as childbirth.

All too often, women on Medicaid can be overlooked or treated differently by doctors—whether it's receiving less time in appointments, not being fully informed about all of their birthing options, or having their concerns dismissed as less urgent. They may feel rushed through their care or pressured into decisions without proper explanation. However, that should never be the case—every woman deserves to be fully supported, educated about her options, and empowered to advocate for herself. 💪🏾

As a doula, I’m here to provide that support—helping you understand your birth choices, navigate your care, and ensure you have a voice during your birthing journey.

Whether you're on Medicaid or not, you deserve the best care possible. Let's work together to make sure you feel empowered, informed, and ready for your birth experience. 🤍✨

If you or someone you know could benefit from this, feel free to reach out! I can’t wait to serve even more women in their journey to motherhood. 💜
