Thank you to the Laurens Iowa Chamber and Community Boosters and our friends Pastor Ben and Misty from the Body of Christ Church for giving us the opportunity to stuff Easter eggs for our Laurens Easter Egg Hunt. We worked so quickly stuffing eggs that we had time to play the card game Uno together. We love bringing joy to our community!

Thank you to Pastor Rita for co-leading our Good Friday service with Pastor Kristen, our Senior Services Coordinator. We used the same worship service script as the script that was being used for the community’s ecumenical Good Friday service that evening.

Our Easter party was combined with our monthly resident council meeting and involved lemon meringue pie, coconut cream pie, ice cream, pretty Easter decor, and a whole lot of great conversation.

to a wonderful donation from our children and youth friends at Westview Church in Albert City.

They called our Senior Services Coordinator and asked if they could donate games and snacks so our residents could have game nights just like the youth do on Wednesday nights. To put the cherry on top of an already sweet treat, they included a bundle of handmade cards that our residents have been enjoying.

We LOVE the thoughtfulness that went into this, and we can’t thank you enough for going above and beyond to help our residents feel included, loved, and seen.

Congratulations to Diane for winning our Lucky Charms marshmallow challenge and becoming our honorary “LCC Leprechaun” for the day! She totallh wowed us by sorting 26 marshmallows in 2 minutes without spilling any cereal out of her bowl.

It’s Lent and we’ve been enjoying community meals shared together. We want to extend a thank you to our local churches for the opportunity to host the first Lenten Luncheon of the season. We had a wonderful turnout!

Community Meals Attended:
- Laurens Care Center Lenten Luncheon
- Methodists Men’s Soup Supper
- Bethany Lutheran Lenten Luncheon
- Body of Christ Lenten Luncheon (to go meals ate in the activities room due to weather)

Next up, United Methodist Church Lenten Luncheon on March 18th at 11:30 AM. We hope to see you there! Lenten Luncheons are free-will donation and open to the public.
