I agree

Your child's IEPs probably mentions strengths.
And at first, that feels good.

But then the rest of the plan is built around everything your child struggles with.

Strengths get a few nice sentences…
and somehow disappear when it’s time to talk about goals, support, or where your child actually spends their day.

If you’ve ever left a meeting feeling there was a lot of talk about "fixing" your child, you’re not imagining it.

"The one thing I think that we need to know is that sexual abuse is not OK with children," Young said. "A lot of times in the past, it has been covered up, and it's good that it's getting some type of notoriety to it so that we can stop it.
