Today, Hospice of Scotland County proudly joins our community in honoring the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication.

At Hospice of Scotland County, we are deeply committed to serving our veterans with the dignity and respect they deserve. Through specialized care programs and compassionate support, we recognize the unique needs of those who have worn the uniform — ensuring their final journey is one of peace, honor, and gratitude.

Tune in to WLNC’s Live on Main Show this Wednesday!

Tanya Williams, social worker at Hospice of Scotland County, will be the featured guest.

Tanya first joined Scotland Health Care System in 1986 as Scotland Memorial Hospital’s only social worker/discharge planner—just three years after the hospital opened at its current Lauchwood Drive location. This fall, we’re celebrating Hospice of Scotland County’s 40th Anniversary, and in just a few months, Tanya will also reach her 40th year of providing, safe, high-quality, and compassionate care as part of the Scotland Health team!

On Wednesday’s show, Tanya will discuss the vital role of social workers in hospice care and details about the upcoming Candlelight Memorial Service on November 20 at 6:00 PM at Northview Harvest Ministries in Laurinburg.

Be sure to tune in!

Has someone you love recently received care from Hospice of Scotland County? Was there a Hospice CNA who made a lasting impact—through their kindness, attentiveness, or exceptional service?

We invite you to recognize these incredible caregivers by nominating your favorite for Scotland Health’s Sunshine Award, which honors extraordinary nursing support team members like CNAs who go above and beyond in their care.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear teammate, Jacy Chavis, who served as the South Carolina Office Manager for Hospice of Scotland County.

Jacy was more than a colleague—she was a passionate advocate for the hospice philosophy and a driving force in expanding our mission throughout our South Carolina service area. From attending community events to helping secure a vital contract with a long-term care facility, Jacy’s dedication made a lasting impact on our organization and the lives of those we serve.

She worked closely with the marketing department at Scotland Health, helping to inform the public about available hospice services, increase referrals, and serve as a trusted provider liaison. Her clerical and administrative support kept our operations running smoothly, and her energy and commitment inspired everyone around her.

Jacy was a go-getter, a team player, and a true believer in compassionate care. She will be missed dearly.

Please keep Jacy’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
