WHY IS EVV compliance so important! This is not a requirement for just Heavens Anointed Touch Home Care, it is required for all HOME CARE agencies providing services through Medicaid.
These are the emails we receive from insurance providers, and it is so important that we follow this state enforced guidelines:
EVV Compliance
Dear Heavens Anointed Touch Home Care,
Providers should capture EVV Data Elements electronically at least 85% of the time using electronic methods. NC Medicaid regularly monitors providers use of manual entries. In the coming months, NCDHHS is going to be requiring a compliance rate of 85% for your EVV claims.
EVV is used to track and monitor services received in a home to ensure access to Care for NC Medicaid members. It is a useful tool to make sure the reporting of all in-home services is correct.
EVV may be captured electronically using telephony (phone registered to beneficiary record), mobile visit verification (application on caregiversβ mobile device), fixed visit verification, or manual entry only when necessary.
Providers should use electronic means EVV to capture visits. On rare occasions when the caregivers are unable to use EVV, a manual entry is allowed. Although manual edits will not cause a claim to be denied, they should be kept to 15% or less. Providers should capture EVV Data Elements electronically at least 85% of the time using electronic methods. NC Medicaid regularly monitors providers use of manual entries.
Below are possible reasons your visits may show for non-compliant visits:
-Timesheet received
-Attendant called in to or out of the EV system early or late
-Data Entry Error
-Attendant failed to call in and out
-Visits being entered manually
-Visits not being called in/out
We will be sending monthly compliance reports to all providers to help you monitor your compliance rates. If you have any questions or if the EVV team can assist you in any way, please let us know.
