We're over the moon to welcome Dr. Anne Valburg to LMH Health Primary Care-West Campus! She knows the relationship that develops with a physician can be the foundation for a patient’s health.

Did you know that Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell was the first woman to become a doctor in the United States? We’re recognizing her and all female doctors on Tuesday, February 3, for National Women Physicians Day.

There are 105 female doctors on the LMH Health Medical Staff, representing more than 15 specialties, including anesthesia, cardiology, oncology, OB-GYN, primary care, emergency medicine and more!

Extraordinary contributions that continue to inspire include:

🩸 Dr. Charles Drew who is known as "the father of the blood bank." His groundbreaking work in developing methods to store blood and plasma has saved millions of lives around the world.

🩺 Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler was the first Black woman to become a doctor in the United States, graduating in 1863 from the New England Female Medical College — what would later become the Boston University School of Medicine.

Last Thursday, LMH Health staff participated in Advocacy Day at the Kansas Capitol, hosted by Kansas Hospital Association.

We had the opportunity to meet with several of our local representatives and senators to share the issues that matter most to LMH this legislative session. These conversations help ensure that the needs of our patients, staff and community are heard and represented at the state level.
