Our bipartisan PBM reform bill just passed the legislature and is headed to Governor Laura Kelly's desk! (Final votes: House 104-17, Senate 32-8)

Pharmacists have been fighting for PBM reform for years to rein in these huge insurance middlemen, lower drug costs for Kansans, and protect access to local pharmacies. Kansas is about to join 34 other states who have already passed PBM reform to protect their citizens from these monopolistic corporations.

Thank you to all the pharmacists, technicians, students, and patients who stood up and made your voices heard! This is a monumental moment for our state and its people. Kansas Pharmacists Association

Our team went to the Capitol this month with 400 pharmacy professionals from across the state to advocate for legislation to stop insurance middlemen from raising prices and closing local pharmacies.

The bill passed the Senate 32-8 and now heads to the house. Thank you to Senators Francisco, Schmidt, and Kloos for your support.

Please share and forward to your state legislators. Kansans must take a stand against insurance monopolies and pass legislation that lowers drug costs and protects local pharmacies.

Please take a moment to ask your state legislators to vote yes on Kansas SB 360.

Please share this and tell everyone you know!!
************************************************

There's some misinformation being shared by big insurance companies that Kansas legislators are proposing a "pill tax", and we need your help to spread the truth!

"Kansas Employers for Affordable Healthcare" (KEAH) is an organization funded by the members shown in this image. As you can see, two of the members are giant insurance companies. Together, just these TWO companies process about half the prescriptions in the US, through their Pharmacy Benefit Managers.

Pharmacy Benefit Managers are raising drug costs for everyone (even including the other members of this organization!) while simultaneously underpaying pharmacies. This bill will prevent this from happening by forcing these companies to shift to a payment model similar to the one used by Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Pharmacy. Other states have made similar laws and saved hundreds of millions of dollars and prevented further pharmacy closures at the same time.

Our state needs to take a stand against giant insurance companies and prevent them from continuing to raise drug costs! PLEASE SHARE THIS!

On Wednesday, we joined 450+ pharmacists, technicians, students, and patients in Topeka to advocate for PBM reform. PBMs are part of the insurance monopolies that are raising prices for patients and driving local pharmacies out of business. Many Kansas pharmacies will close forever this year due to poor reimbursement, leaving communities without essential access to healthcare.

We made a huge impact, but there is more work to do. We won't stop advocating until Kansans are protected from these profit-hungry mega corporations.

Join our movement here and we'll let you know easy ways to help when the time comes! 📣 bit.ly/stopPBM1
