Cold and flu season is officially here, and if your household (or workplace… or friend group) is anything like the rest of Lawrence, it feels like everyone is fighting off something right now. 🍂

So this felt like the perfect time to share a little Traditional Chinese Medicine wisdom that we lean on often in the clinic.

In TCM, “wind” is considered the origin of a hundred diseases, not because the wind itself is harmful, but because it acts as a carrier, letting external pathogens slip into the body when our defenses are down.

And the area most vulnerable to that pathway?
👉 The back of your neck and your ears.

Simple self-care tip:
If it’s chilly, windy, or you’ve just been sweating or showering, make sure to cover your neck with a scarf, hoodie, or warm layer and wear a hat! Keeping this area protected does wonders for supporting your immune system and preventing those first signs of getting sick.

Tiny habits, big impact. 💛

At Lawrence Acupuncture, we’re proud to support our Veterans through the VA and Community Care program. Many of the Veterans who walk through our doors are carrying things most people never see:
• moral injury and overwhelming guilt
• severe injuries from intensive training or from war
• PTSD and a nervous system stuck on high alert
• damage from exposure to harsh chemical agents
