This group is for loved ones of someone who participates in DBT or has a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder who want understanding, support, and tools that work. Together, we’ll explore the roots of emotion dysregulation, learn how to care for your own wellbeing, and practice skills to respond effectively when your loved one needs you most.

We are thrilled to announce that the DBT Center of Lawrence is CERTIFIED by the Linehan Board of Certification! 🎉 DBT Certification ensures programs have the necessary components and organization to deliver DBT with fidelity to the model as developed by Dr. Linehan and colleagues. This means that we adhere to standards that help us provide our best care for our clients. Thank you to all of those involved in this long and rewarding process!

Today, our therapists and interns attended DBT's annual conference virtually.

We reviewed the effectiveness of DBT when provided via telehealth, learned about new research on DBT, listened to stories of racism experienced by Black women in DBT, discussed how we can promote antiracist practices within our program, and discussed how we can become more adherent to DBT.

We acknowledge we are doing the best that we can AND we need to do better; we are motivated to improve our team and our work!

Today our therapists attended Dr. Megan Paceley's Research Impact Talk: Queer(ing) Communities to Promote Justice & Equity for Trans Youth. One statistic from The Trevor Project was particularly noteworthy: "LGBTQ youth who report having at least one accepting adult were 40% less likely to report a su***de attempt in the past year."

We strive to be a gender-affirming environment for our community members, and we will continue to pursue interventions for our LGBTQ+ clients.
